Penultimate V.2 Blog

author=orochii
Oh those shiny new arts are awsum :^DD! Also great progress and pretty glad to see there's gonna be a v2 soon.

Cheers!

Haha! Thank you very much, bud! I'm certain Paulo would love to hear that, too! We're deep into the polishing phase, so we could very well be playing in less than two weeks. Keep your fingers crossed ^_^

Arc Blog #5 Near finished, requesting a tester or three.

Hey, is the offer for testing still up? I do consider myself to be a veteran of the action platformer genre. I'd love to help out if possible! Also, congrats on making it this far! :D

Arc Blog #3 A free demo has been released!

Random damage at certain times? I'm a little curious when that occurred. Think you could be able to provide me a pic or a quick vid of that happening?

Sure! It was difficult to replicate so it's nothing truly game-breaking by any chance, but it does happen on rare occasions. While the Harpy Queen's feathers do 1 damage, there are times where it'll happen to do more than that. I also just noticed that when the forest stage is revisited for the 2nd time after completion, none of the checkpoints reset, so I had to clear it again in one run. But, this is a demo, so I know you'll iron all that stuff out. Best of luck!

Arc Blog #3 A free demo has been released!

The demo itself was very fun! The only errors that I saw were ones regarding HP display and some random damage taken at certain times. There was one time where my HP was full and I got hit by something and it went straight to 1. But overall, it's a solid action platformer with some smooth movement and fun boss fights. I look forward to the full game! :D

Base Package/Exe Update

If anyone has downloaded the updated package today, it is advised that you get the update exe. There was an issue regarding the magic lamp in which it did not recognize one of the room names known as "dribble_000". That error has been fixed, so everything should be playable now.

The base package has also been updated with this fix. I'm terribly sorry about that!

Update And Thank You!

Remember not to be too preoccupied with some feedback! While feedback is very useful sometimes it may contradict each other. Don't feel the need to address every single concern, or else you might get burn-out.

That said, thank you for your hard work and for taking criticisms very well.

I couldn't have said it better myself! There definitely have been times that has happened. A player wants one thing, while another wants the exact opposite. It's kind of like tug of war in a sense. Finding that "middle ground" is a fun, but also challenging process. Thanks for the advice!

And you're welcome :D.

Back On Track!

Haha! Yeah man, it's been in development for a little while. I blame myself for not telling you guys sooner. It is a direct prequel to this project, so while waiting for this one, I highly recommend playing that one. Thanks for the following too!

I'm glad to see you're still around! This should be a fun ride from here on out. Expect lots of info in the coming months! :D

1.0 Fixes

For all who are following the project, another fix has been added. The link to update your executable file will always be the same and it does add and fix certain things in the game. The patch is available on the game profile towards the bottom, but can also be downloaded here in this blog. I will also lock this blog for a while just in case I have to let players know there's been a patch.

I must also thank the players for letting me know if something is wrong or off. The more you speak up, the more it helps me. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Version 1.0 is now available!

I completely forgot to mention. There is a possibility of a version that I'll upload here that includes less resources from the sound/music folders. Maybe then, it'll get to 450 MB or less. Stay tuned!

On The Verge of Release

I was really happy to follow the release of this game. I can't wait for 1.1 too!

I want to say thank you to you and your tester in advance for all the work you guys put in for such a project, and I can't wait to see perhaps a commercial game in the future with a similar idea...

Haha! I'm glad as well. There's quite a bit to sink your teeth into, so hopefully, I can get it out this weekend or so. You're very welcome :D. I do indeed plan on doing something like that in the future.

In a way, this is kind of what I wanted to do with my own IP, but many of the ideas for it were injected into this. My "dream IP" is to create a fast-paced action RPG that has a large cast of playable characters, lots of content, and can last almost or just as long as top-down RPGs from the 90s(approximately 15-20+ hours). After I finish this one and Monster World Legends, something original is highly possible.
