XEMETH'S PROFILE

I'm a hardcore fan of the old school RPGs, but I've dabbled in a lot of different games, and genres. I like to point out the flaws of the games I play just as much as the good, so please don't think of me as cynical.

I'm from Canada eh.

My skype name is Nakirro.

Lunar Wish: Orbs of Fate Review

I haven't been here in awhile, and then I see this review with 76 replies. What the heck is going on here? I read through the review, and I was actually disappointed. The review itself was harsh. I'm surprised it was approved.

When you review a game, or a movie. You want to show people why you liked, or disliked it. In the review all I really saw was. I didn't like the characters at the beginning, so I will assume the rest of them are bad. The comparison to Final fantasy 8 was the exact opposite of this game. FF8 had a good story, but really bad design, and game-play. While Orbs of Fate had great design, and game-play, but the story was trying too hard to be funny, and not immersing.

The fact that you wont review the battle system, and the map designs makes me wonder why you bothered yourself to review this game at all... I can understand the reasoning on why you didn't review the music, so no harm there.

To me the characters may have been weird, and quirky, but they still made for a memorable experience. I know I'm just adding fuel to the fire, but I couldn't just let this slide.

You have to admit. For a game that's free, and made with RPG maker. It still provided a good amount of entertainment. (For those who actually bothered playing the game)

I just want to say this last bit before I leave to play other games. For those who disliked this review. It's just a review. It will anger you, make you reflect on what was said, an then anger you some more.

Nothing you can say will change that. I think this game had strong game-play, good side quests, and a great amount of effort was put into it.

We pretty much have the same review. xD

Yeah this game didn't win me over on the story, but the cliffhanger is what save this game in a way. The last scene where everyone gets together, and decides to go Serathium is really when the game truly starts.

The fact that the game is 15 hours long if you play casually is proof of that. The only way to make this better is to re-release the whole game with both parts. Unless there's a third part to this story.

No problem.

You have a great talent for RPG making. If it wasn't for the fact RPG Maker vx ace was very limited on the things you can do to your game. I could see all the possibilities. Now I noticed that in the demo your battle screen looked a lot better then in the actual release of the game. Is there a reason for this in particular?

I'm not saying your jokes aren't funny, but a lot of the joke come from reality which can ruin the immersion of the game, and how well you can relate/adapt to a character.

As for the boss battles its not the difficulty of the boss I disliked. Its the presentation. There's no suspense or reasoning as to why your fighting. My best example of this is. Applon vs mt lemele (not sure if that's the correct name)
In Applon's boss fight we knew about the creature beforehand. We knew the dangers of that cave. We had a feeling we would run into it. The suspense was there. While mt lemele you change maps, and the cutscene was filled with more comedy, and even Saber is saying that the party is distracted. no suspense just laughs and giggles. It continues to be like this for a huge majority of the game.

I know you're Going to do a great job on TR. All you have to do is look back at some minor mistakes, and you'll make another featured game I mean it.
