Fixing Reflect Bug?

Oh I see. Well I can live with that then with that since I know what's what at least. I'll try and find this XN Resource Editor, if it's still around that is and not gone somewhere, to fix that. And will take a look at that last one afterwards then~

Ok, so I've noticed a couple of very strange things in 1.09

In the Switch/Variable screen (F9 in test play, etc), why is the On/Off called Act/Dest??

When an enemy uses the Double Attack command, why does it say Status Abnormality when it's used?

Why is the text font completely different than in the default?


I'd like to at least fix the second issue if possible. The first one isn't that big of an issue for me since well, I know what's On and Off. Just weird that it changed to that of all things.

It'll be a long long while before it's fully done mind you lol. Could wait until I finish up the LP and get all of the bugs fixed before anything else I suppose (it'll probably be another 2-3 years before I fully finish this, IF I do ;_; ).

I didn't know how much detail I could've given in that thread really to be quite honest. I am still trying to fix up other bugs as I play through the game myself for my Let's Play, but whether or not I forgot some things (such as this one bug which was determinal to progress) is hard to say. Not to mention, there are some spelling errors and whatnot abound too, but oh well I guess on that bit~

They're not custom, they're rips from Scarlet Weather Rhapsody or...the other fighting game that I cannot recall right now. Starts with an I and introduced Suika.


Immaterial and Missing Power. Others are from MUGEN. I'm not a spriter, so I couldn't sprite even if I wanted to. Well...I DID sprite a long time ago, but I still deem those as failures :<

How about big (majestuous) trees in rows, on each side, for example?



Speaking of this, I forgot that I based this off of a sprite image I found long long ago. It felt like it fit the mansion the best, so I went with it for the outerior.





As for the interior? I forget what I was using for the design of it...the rooms that aren't done in there were meant to be actual rooms, like a music room, ballroom, etc...

Well...I guess thanks for letting me know about that. The things I don't do sometimes @_@;; So about that double animation with Reflect...is that supposed to happen at all normally? Not with the patch or anything (I don't know if it'd do that with the patch per say or not), but with the default? Or is that part of the bug with Reflect? lol

Hmmm...that'd require custom coding, and if I use the custom EXP system that I'm probably going to use, then this COULD work...though there'd be no real way to know how much Skill Points the player has...unless I did a CMS which is even more work...@_@


I will keep these ideas in mind though...just I don't know if that's the way to go at the current time. It'd make the player not spend like a bajillion years learning abilities by using 50 thousand items (there's literally 1000 something items just for abilities, which there's about 1000 switches associated with said abilities to make sure that they are learned properly).



EDIT - Of note, I am still working on fixing up bugs and stuff with the current beta, so if you do manage to get far into the game before I get to that point myself (I've been working on a LP for it, hence why I'm taking my sweet time fixing things), do expect some things to go wrong or something. Then again, some MIGHT still go wrong somewhere in the early parts that I may or may not have forgotten @_@

@Chana: Not sure how I would go about coding that...unless I made it custom like my Synthesis shop. I wonder if that wouldn't be the better alternative, since people would actually get to see what things do beforehand...hmmmm...the problem with that though, is if monsters dropped skills or such, which several do...since you'd still need an item to get the skill in that case...

Fixing Reflect Bug?

Ok, so here's what I got.

I open the Hyper Patcher, and go to my directory as shown here:




Next, I go here in the Hyper Patcher tool:




After that, I find the Reflect patch to patch this up with (it's at 1.08 thanks to the above link earlier):




And then, I get this which I ASSUME it means it patched up? I don't know since I can't click OK:




And so, after all that, I go to test Reflect and...it still crashes the game. Once the vid gets uploaded, I'll post that here as well.

Some...weird stuff. I know that it crashes yeah, which I don't know why when I used the above method to do so, but the double Reflect thing is...odd, to say the least. And it doesn't do it with EVERYTHING as you see...makes no sense!
