[2k3] Damage floors and random encounters?

So, I looked at my damage floor tile, and it does have random encounters set on it (I believe?), yet I still get no random encounters on them. I may or may not make damage floors have random encounters, but curious what the issue could be here? Unless "Ecn. Multiplier" is "Encounter Multiplier" (which I'm assuming is the case...I have it set to 0 for said tile...). And if that IS the Encounter Multiplier, how does it handle encounters then? Does it add to the map's encounter or what?? For instance, most of my maps have 70-80 Encounter Rate, most of my maps have a 100 Enc. Multiplier (some have 20, and the damage floor has 0). How does this work out??

[2K3] Overworld Bamboo sprites?

Now, I'm no spriter and I don't know of any other games that uses bamboo for their maps, but would anyone happen to know where I could grab any bamboo sprites to use for dungeon maps, or would anyone be willing to help make some if there are none? I'd normally not ask for map sprites, but this is a rare occurrence since my Bamboo Forest is...well...lacking any sort of bamboo on the map, and I'd like to reprimand that if possible. Any help would be much appreciated. ^^;

Dungeons, Length, and You!

No, I'm not here to start any arguments or anything people! I just want to hear your opinions and stuff. Yes, this is brought over from the Screenshot thread, after discussing some things about dungeons and their lengths.

So the questions here are:

1) What is your tolerance levels for dungeons, in terms of length and time?
2) What are your most loved/hated dungeons, in terms of gameplay and designs?
3) How long do you think dungeons generally should last, as well as in comparison to final dungeons?

I'm going to post some times I have with various final dungeons in RPGs (bar one, since it's an optional dungeon, and another because it's a Zelda game) for comparison's sake. These are all taken from my LPs:

CT: 1:02:36 (Black Omen)
FFI: 58:37
FFII: 29:52 (Pandaemonium), 49:03 (Jade + Pand)
FFIII: 19:45 (Crystal Tower only), 29:38 (World of Darkness only), 49:23
FFIV: 1:28:13
FFV: 1:02:20
FFVI: 1:11:48
FFVII: 52:32
FFVIII: 52:11
FFIX: 1:07:26
FFMQ: 45:05
Legend of Zelda: LttP: 29:15 (Ganon's Tower)
Super Mario RPG: 33:08
Valkyrie Profile: 1:48:31 (Seraphic Gate)

Keep in mind, that I already knew what to do for all but FFMQ/FFII/FFIII. These videos also did not cut out any random encounters or anything, so these are actual legit times on my end. And with that in mind, I'm not of the mind that those who are playing these games for the first time would necessarily be around those times for final dungeons (for those that I already know how to do), but even looking at the dungeons I knew nothing about, hardly any of the final dungeons broke 1 hour. : S

Feel free to discuss and whatnot. I'm terrible at typing out what I wanted to say here but I hope you understand what I want to discuss? ^^;

[2K3] Scan Command used with Item?

So I've recently decided that I want to have the player have an item (infinite usage, only there when the character that normally has the scan command is not available at all) that would scan the enemy (I have a character who has a command ability that does the same thing, but again, this is for times that the player has absolutely no access to her at all, so it'll be there in their inventory only while she's gone, and gone when she's back). Is this possible to do at all using an item?

EDIT - So I'm thinking of having a character with a command ability that would remove all statuses on herself and give it to all enemies at a 100% accuracy (obviously won't hit enemies immune to said statuses). Is this possible to do at all?

[2k3] Image Specifications

So, because there's something that Vista (and apparently Windows 8) doesn't have that's compatible with the Help file for 2k3, I cannot check the image specifications (or the Help file in general), so I need to know if there's another way to find all of this? I need to find out the specifications for Pictures and whatnot, since I'm probably going to have someone help with character bios and whatnot...

EDIT - In addition, what font does 2k3 use by default? This is on behalf of a partner of mine, who wishes to use the same font that 2k3 does for the bios.

[2k3] Requesting mappers!

So yes, in order to help speed up production of Touhou Fantasy, I am looking for anyone who is proficient in mapping and can work well in RPG Maker 2k3 for help in this field. I am slowly working on it myself, but at this rate the game won't be done for another 5 years and I would like to get this done eventually. Anyone interested, please feel free to either post here or PM me.

For those interested, here are what needs to be done:

*Revamping old dungeons (this only really applies to 2 beta1 dungeons).
*Mapping new dungeons (this accounts for about 30 dungeons. Yes, you read that right. There is a lot of content in the game yet to be done. For more details, feel free to ask about it either here or in PM).

I hope to see someone step up to help on this, if they are not too busy with their own project, that is. ^^;; If you require to see screenshots of the current maps I have (or current dungeons), I can post them here.

[2K3] Switch Puzzle #2000

So I haven't really messed with switch puzzles yet in my game at all (I have one in my debug room, but it's broken and doesn't work properly for whatever reason), but I'm thinking of having a puzzle like this for a future dungeon.

I haven't started any sort of coding for this since well...I wouldn't have any idea on how this would be done. For those who have never played Super Mario RPG, the puzzle here is as such. You step on one switch, all other switches around it are depressed (or undepressed if they're already depressed). The goal therefore is to make them all depressed. Any ideas on how this could be done at all? I know it's ripping off from another game but eh...I'm no expert at switch puzzles or puzzles in general so. ^^;;

This is somewhat similar to the above, where you have to knock one thing over another to make it go away, and leave yourself with only one left. THIS one might be trickier than the other, but yeah...there's that. I'm also wondering if there wouldn't be an interesting way of handling these at all...I was thinking of having these in a beta6 dungeon, which would have a mirror image of the player character, where they have to do things both on their side and the mirror side...

Help Xeno choose what to do next for LP!

http://xenomic.freehostia.com/Text/Videos%20to%20Do.txt

For those interested, I'm giving you the option of what I shall do from this list of 78 games (well, less than that. PC games are excluded for now). Feel free to voice your opinion here! Since I'm capable of doing commentary with PSX/N64 games easily now, and don't have to worry too much about recording space, all shall be fine!

Just a brief reminder, I'm trying to not do more Megaman games at the current time as the previous 6 LPs were all Megaman games (Megaman 1-6 for the NES), and I figured it's time to do something NOT Megaman.

This is the current voting right now for games from all forums:

[2K3] Music and looping

I am curious, is it possible to make music loop if the song itself loops? For instance, setting a loop point in the song, and then adding that to the game?

Camstudio Recording Issues

So I recently had to use a new computer since my old one died, and this one is a Vista (I don't know if I need to put all of the details for the computer here or not). So recently I decided to try testing out recording on it, and well...I can hear the game volume in-game, and whenever I finish recording I can hear myself talking, but it doesn't pick up any audio from the game (that, and the recorder records at like...15 FPS...). I do not know what the problem could be, and I've no idea how to actually set this up on this computer correctly. Any help would be appreciated on this matter if anyone could help me out. It'll suck if I can't record anything because of this problem. >_<
