I don't know why we allow disgusting creepers and overall shitty people to have more than an hour to thrive on this board.

"One side threw the first punch, but things didn't kick up in earnest until the other side punched back" Talk about disingenuous.

Look, if you really want "shitty" behavior to stop, what you should be doing is trying to reach out to people, and be just as willing to listen and be open-minded as you expect it from them. But if what you want is to dish it instead then you should be able to take it.

This happens on the regular. Some of you have made it a habit to call everything under the sun "bad". But then lament the moment someone else drops a label you don't like. And on top of everything you still think you're one to talk about "tact" or whatever.

So something makes you feel "uncomfortable". New's flash, that true for everyone. I know several people who post less or have stopped altogether because of the atmosphere that has permeated this forum for the several years; myself included. The difference is that some of us try to deal with that in a way that does not require for the people we disagree with to be "no-platformed". Meditate on that.

And as for Max. The guy is not without issues, but "hate" is not one of them. For that you'll have to look in a mirror.

What is your theme music?

I'm that character that joins and leaves your party whenever he pleases. ;)

"I'm not from here, I'm not from there.
I don't have an age, I don't have a fate.
And to be happy is my only identity."

I'm I the only who gets bad, or weird dreams that make me feel annoyed when I wake up. Lol sorry this is just randomly on my mind.

I love having "nightmares" because even if they're not much fun while you're having them, it is fun to remember them. And they sometimes end up as great inspiration for art... I once showed my mom a drawing I made of a really messed up dream I had, involving dead goats and other hellish imagery, and she almost had me exorcised. xD Good stuff.

Just picked up RPG Maker 2000, 2003, and MV because sale.

^ Why? Isn't ACE just like regular VX, only better?

I myself got MV, though I don't know what will I do with it. I guess I let it sit on my hard drive and stare at it from time to time. xD

I can make $500 if I fire Liberty!

I'll give you $500 (pesos) if you hire me, so I can lock horns with other mods about policy in an official capacity. =P

I don't know a better way to ask. However what are your thoughts on mature content in games? There's things I want to do in my games, but I am afraid too, in fear of negative reviews because of it even if I say what is in the game. Sorry it's on my mind.

I agree. Even though Shayoko was kind of a pain to deal with, her/his methodical way to give feedback was often times more informative than some reviews. I wish more people were that thorough; And played games at that rate too... Frankly I'm surprised. She/he didn't seem the type to push an issue that far. Not to the point of messing with people via PMs. O.o

Well, as long as you're not doing anything "sexual" or "controversial" I think you're safe. Those are the things that usually make people stop thinking, but the vast majority are chill with most anything that can be considered "adult content".

As for the matter of reviews, you're probably out of luck. If someone wants to give you a bad review over whatever petty issue they want, chances are they will get away with it. "Reviews are just opinion anyway!" It only takes for someone to put together 300 words about anything they feel really strongly about, for a review to get accepted... But don't worry. Everything is fine. =)

Wow, I didn't know game mechanics can be patented.

From what (little) I understand of patents, what can be patented is the method of doing something, not the result itself. For example, let's say that you discover the number 10 by adding 5+5; that's your patent. However it is also possible get to 10 by adding 6+4, or 1+1+1..., etc. Those patents are up for grabs for whoever figures them out. Probably, the issue here is that programming for consoles, devs are working with the same tools, tools that they don't always fully understand, and so the ways to do things may be limited.

Also, I think you can trademark colors in relation to products. For example, if a chocolate company wants to use the same color as another in their packaging, they couldn't because of brand recognition (Well, they could, but they would have to pay, just like with patents). But if they sold any other kind of product, they could use that color without a problem. It would even be wise to trademark that for themselves before anyone else beats them to it... I remember some shoe company trademarked having red soles in their footwear.

Yeah, it's nuts. xD

I now regret not having banned Mafia a little...

I warned you but you didn't listen.jpg It didn't have to be this way.jpg This is the future you chose.jpg

Seriously, though, I guess what tukeyDawg and others are suggesting (and I agree with) is for the ability to filter the latest post section by categories: Images/reviews/statuses, etc. Or even by forums: Design & Develpment/Creative corner/Welp... If you use the latest post section, you already do this "by eye". It's only that it becomes more difficult when pages upon pages are about the same topic. Not necessarily mafia, but yes, mafia... Being able to tick content on and off on the fly would be cool.

How difficult would it be to implement something like that, though, is another ballgame altogether. But not too difficult, hopefully...

Programming cutscenes is probably the most tedious part of gam mak for me. I don't know how some devs do it.

For me the problem lies with the writing itself (Screen-writing? Or whatever the term would be). Because once you have a definitive idea of how a cut-scene is going to play out, all is left is: "move char left, move char right, wait, show text", etc. Yeah, it it takes time to get it right, but it's not a big deal... The problem is when the script changes and it throws everything off. As your story and characters grow and evolve, you're bound to re-visit past work in order to bring it all together. Over an over again. THAT'S what's tedious.
