rpg maker mv is a large step backwards

if they add a script editor to it then i will get it. until then i am sticking with vx ace.

rpg maker mv is a large step backwards

as somebody guessed my name is indeed andreas aspenberg. i do not feel anythhing about rpg maker mv. i am just more comfortable with vx ace as there scripts can be compiled directly in the rpg maker. it also enables full insight into each game`s sorce code which makes it more flexible. why should i go for mv when i have vx ace?

rpg maker mv is a large step backwards

my name is not andrea!!!!!! people have to stop making fun of my name all of the time. i do not hate anything. the removal of a script editor from rpg maker mv is just really problematic because it causes extra work. i have tested it and found nothing new except graphics and music but that can be ported back to vx ace.(most likely). i am a very logical man and therefore not emotional. eventing have no new content elements from vx ace. vx ace have more available graphics and music than mv and is according to what i have read more stable.

rpg maker mv is a large step backwards

they should add a script editor. as it currently is it is weaker than rpg maker 2003 which also supports plugins but those are written in c which is more powerful.

rpg maker mv is a large step backwards

without a built in script editor all of the scripts need to be compiled into a plugin and then loaded through the plugin manager. it is extra work just to test it. the plugin manager does mean that people can release their scripts as plugins but, for people working on games together with scripts for those games it is more work.

rpg maker mv is a large step backwards

they really should add a script editor so that scripts can at least be created and tested in the rpg maker without the user having to compile it in person. some people have only learned ruby and it is mean to them to remove it.

rpg maker mv is a large step backwards

they really should have included a script editor with ruby in addition to javascript support. vx ace is sold as a separate program from vx. i went straight from 2003 to vx ace. the reviews on steam is mixed.(there is reports of random crashes for example). the close button is unavailable in full screen. the music should be backwards compatible with vx ace. the eventing interface is mostly unchanged from vx ace. the kingdom hearts and final fantasy games on mobile phones is rather complex. i hope that they release a revision of mv but until then i am sticking with vx ace.

rpg maker mv is a large step backwards

it have no scripts, just plugins and those are written in a separate program which costs money. 2003 also supports plugins but, those are written in c which is a more powerful language than javascript. side-view battle system is available in 2003 by default. mv is the first rpg maker that lacks support for full screen during testing.(unless xp also have that problem but that i have not tested.) mv also lacks the ability to exit the game.

rpg maker mv is a large step backwards

with the script editor removed the functionality of mv is just like 2003. what were the developers thinking.

RPG Maker MV announced for PC and MAC

if games can be converted from vx ace to mv i will certainly move from vx ace to mv. its release is october 23.
