Let’s Get to Know You, Happy Little Sunflower!

Wow, really? Undertale is great and all but the fandom does need to let the rest of the art world breathe a little.

I Miss the Sunrise

So if the player doesn't do anything with him before ep 4, they lose out on that choice for good? D: That's pretty harsh, especially since there's no warning for it! I guess you weren't expecting players to leave him hanging for that long. Ah well, I didn't get too far before I noticed that, so I'll just release him on my ep 3 file and continue from there.

(Personally, I felt like the most moral option would be to wait until the war breaks out to let him go -- before then, he could go right back to piracy and be a deadly threat to the people the Inquiry is trying to save, but by that point he's a drop in the bucket and will have his own problems to keep him busy.)

I Miss the Sunrise

Whee triple posting because no one talks here anymore

Sorry to bug you again, but I just started Episode 4 and noticed Lagarto is no longer in his cell (I planned to leave him hanging and see if anything happened in Episode 5). Am I permanently locked out of that choice, or does he come back later?

Obelisk: Devilkiller

Hi, just popping in to comment on a little detail: I really like that you called the arcane passive "I am Myself" rather than continuing the celestial theme with something cliche like "I am the Stars" (which is what I expected it to be). I have no idea if you intended it this way, but I interpreted it as a compellingly humanist sentiment: these people could draw strength from immeasurably powerful celestial bodies, but instead they say nah, I'm as strong as the sun and moon on my own. I found that delightfully clever and surprisingly meaningful for throwaway flavor text. If I ever get around to making my own story (one of these days!) I'll be sorely tempted to work the phrase in somehow.

There's no shame in ripping off something excellent.

I did work off the same download as before, so that could be it. Strangely, it now works on my Windows 8 laptop! Maybe having a save file stabilized it, somehow?

But I did manage to power through the bugs and get to the end! It was very easy overall; even the final battle was over almost as soon as it began. The cake guards were the only really challenging enemies, thanks to their sky-high defense -- Dimitri was the only one who could meaningfully harm them. Were they intended to be optional superbosses? But the characters were really cute and fun. I empathized greatly with Nikka.

I Object!?

Okay yes, it works on a Windows 7 desktop. Very strange. My Windows 8 machine has been yelling at me to update to Windows 10 for a while, so maybe it's out of date or something else has broken?

Edit: I don't know if you care about fixing typos, but
  • "Dragons" is capitalized in the description of Sasha's Dragon Fire skill.
  • The description for Sasha's Passion skill says "parties" when it means "party's".
  • The Green Robe's description lacks a period.
  • In the conversation with the Lady? Skeleton, Dimitri says he'll get the "hand" of dancing eventually.
  • Nikka says the hearth in the kitchen room is cleaned "regularily".
  • In the post-battle cutscene where you get the prison keys, Sasha says "prince Alexei" instead of "Prince Alexei" at one point. (Titles that are used as part of names should be capitalized etc.)
  • The second screen of the ending narration needs a comma after "lessons". Possibly it was there but got cut off?

I'm loving how much flavor text there is, by the way.

Edit edit: Aaand I encountered another bug. During the battle with the cake guards, at one point as Dimitri was executing Slash, the video froze but the rest of the game was still responsive. Like, I could hear the menu navigation noises and select commands, and I think I even finished the battle, but the game stayed frozen on that single frame. This is probably a general MV issue though.

And it keeps happening, sometimes on the overworld. When it happens on the overworld it seems to be a total freeze, and I have to restart the program.

I Object!?

This is the first MV game I've tried, but this does lead me to suspect my computer doesn't like MV games for some reason. I'll try it on a different computer and see what happens.

I Object!?

Nope, no hanging or error message, it just closes.

Edit: Also the filesize seems fine. It's 199 MB after unzipping.

I Object!?

This always crashes after the opening narration, at the "now loading" message. I am using Windows 8.1 if that matters.
