Just starting to get my feet in the water with this "coding" thing...
If everyone could please be patient and answer my questions, I'd be much obliged.

Cool. Banned on #rpgmaker.net for joking that I'm 12.

Welcome to the club.
Stick around for a few months and you will start getting some respect.
Most people come here and end up giving up on their game.

I think thats a valid reason to be suspicious.
Also, Karsuman is making games too. There's always t least ten other people in chat; not all active, mind you, but they come and go and will probably help you if your not annoying. (Learned this the hard way)

One last thing; the IRC power abuse is actually alot less bad here than other places.
(on that note, if you were banned, it was probably only for like 3 minutes.
I got banned "para hablan espanol", and it was like three minutes of banning to say, (shut up. You're annoying.))

The forums are where I have problems- we got a few mean people, but again, even mean people can help you, they're just mean about it. :)

So, in closure, I will give you the same wisdom passed on to me, "Man up."

Final Fantasy III, no, not the one with Kefka (Cefca)

The FFIII with Kefka is better. :P
Speaking of which, I must go and finish that game. :P

Getting a RPG Maker game to work on a website?

Well, by hosted, I mean, "Playable without a download--right on the webpage."
But the RTP and stuff for my game would need to somehow load from the page, too.

Getting a RPG Maker game to work on a website?

I would like to Host my game on a website, but don't have a clue how to do so.
I know I need to put the RTP files on the webpage and have them download, (perhaps temporarily),
and then have the game on the page.

Any Web-Whizzes know how I could do this?

Release Something! Day VIII: Journey of the Cursed King [Sign ups]

I'm in. :)
I've got about an hour of gameplay for Ark done, so I'll submit that.
Put me down for Ark (Demo).

Looking for RM buddy

Yo, go ahead an PM me your E-mail, too!
Unless, having to E-mail 6 other people and then me is too much.
Then I can have someone else be my buddy. :)

Good work, WIP.
It's a pretty simple solution that (hopefully) doesn't effect anyone here's enjoyment of the site.

Bon voyage!

EDIT: Derp.! I saw Kentona's post and thought he was leaving...

( I was wondering why he told us to "take pictures.") :P

How do I set a vehicle as an event?

def set_location (map_id, x, y)
@map_id = map_id
@x = x
@y = y
refresh
unless if @data == true
then def Pos(x, y)
@x = x
@y = y + 2
refresh
end

fix this goddamn event.

Inspiration and Work Ethic

1. Get high.
2. Open RPG Maker.
3. Make a game.

This is my ACTUAL process. (Minus step one. :P)
But seriously, my best work comes when I just say "Oh, that would be fun/cool/neat" and I IMMEDIATELY write it down, or else I just go start programming. (won't be able to do that soon, if I get my job at best Buy. :D)
I then just go off of there, and, if I can fit it into my game, and still have the story be coherent, or I am able to succesfully make the mechincs work, I save my progress. I can always change it later.

EDIT: Am I the only one who METICULOUSLY gives characters "correct" incorrect grammar?
(if that makes any sense?)

I have a VERY loose idea of the plot in my game. as I work, I add in a dungeon, but If I have an idea for plot, it goes right into a notebook. Then, if I decide that it fits my stories general diredction, it gets tweaked, character's accents/personalities are taken into account, and if It still makes sense, (and I still like it,) in it goes. Again, I can always change it later.

I guess MY best advice is just be spontaneous. As soon as a project feels like "real" work, it's time to move on, because then it's no longer fun. (And hobbies should be fun, right? :D)
