BICFARMER'S PROFILE

Veteran student who has the knowl that is needed to answer questions and stuff like that.

I'm making a game too, but since I am not an artist, musician, programmer, or writer, it's going extremely slowly. You can find it over there->

I also joined in a handful of RMN's events, here's some of the games I got:

Click here for crappy rpgmaker horror memes that i made during rmn events that were too short to make anything for

Personal notes:
- DO NOT use nested loops in RPGMaker
- DO NOT use centered origin show picture, it cannot be removed unless it goes back to topleft corner origin
- F9 for debug menu
- My biggest trip up is mapping. I really have no idea whatsoever when it comes to making maps. Which means I need to get a good map idea before I can make something even remotely playable.
Zack's Ultimate RPG Lite
This is my ultimate first game. It looks just like any noob's first RTP game. No RTP needed. About 1-2 hrs..

[Poll] Battle of Final Fantasy leading men, FF7 & FF8!

Squall died in disc 1 and the entire rest of the game is his hallucination

Is there Something Wrong with me? Am I just not a good dev?

It really comes down to this: do you agree with this guy's criticisms/comments. If you agree with some of his comments, accept it as suggestions and make use of it to improve your gam. If not, ignore or explain (risky lol) your reasons and move on. It is true there are a lot of AVGN style channels on YouTube, im a big fan of some of them. They usually take everything at face value and know zero to nothing about actually making the game or using the game maker software. They might have some legitimate critique but they will usually go overboard like a Spanish inquisitor. Whether your a good dev is really a self esteem thing. It didn't depend on other people opinions at all. Besides, games using sample maps and auto generated dungeons go on steam. Would that make those devs better than you? Probably not.

Revive the Dead 2: Deader or Alive

Game page submission got denied because i forgot to put in a plot... no surprise since there barely is any.

Yes now you know this is gonna be a misao-winning game

Ara Fell Review

everybody is using different rating styles, some people's ratings are literally a choice between 1 or 5, and being unhappy about someone else's score suggests that you want them to rate using YOUR rating style, which is impossible.

Traveler

High production value story-centric horror game. Lots of (very long) cutscenes. Got as far as chapter two at the front gate. Once spawned, the monster at the junction around room 13-14 was always present. I suspect this is not intended, since it was extremely difficult to get past him during chapter 2 to get to the front gate, and it was literally impossible to get past him from the front gate back to the garden, so I was regrettably unable to advance further in the game.

The Orchid's Dream (Demo 1.0)

Japan themed RPG demo. The game had lots of features I liked, but difficulty is on the tough side. Died a few times to the snakes in the start of the game, since they aggro on you and the forest is pretty cramped. Fleeing is pretty useless since there are no mercy invulnerability and aggro enemies can easily restart the battle. Aggro enemies also stay aggro'd even after you go to another area, which is kinda annoying. Lots of side areas and bonus items, as well as chests. There's also an extensive amount of craftable items, which looked pretty powerful. Too bad demo is not long enough to take advantage of this. Overall game is pretty good, but ends in a pretty bad spot (in the middle of a dongeon)

Magic Ark

Medium length demo. Writing is strange and doesnt seem too logical but is understandable. Swear words and non sensical, unexpected things happen regularly. Also lots of references. Quite some bugs exist, such as several cutscenes being replayable and possibly get you stuck. Combat is on the easy side, but there are some interesting parts that I've never seen before in other games. Although the last boss was quite tough and I had to chew thru all my potions with him. Overall story seemed interesting, but the writing when it comes down to the actual game is pretty weird.

Astoria: The Holders of Power Saga Review

You lose your money twice? Dev told me I only lose my items once and nothing like that ever happens again. I feel lied to.

It is true that quality of a product may not be related to the marketing practices of the developer, but some people WILL assume your product is poor if you are caught using shady marketing. Marketing's true goal after all is to make the product look good regardless of its actual quality, so shady marketing is basically a huge risk in itself.

What are you thinking about right now?
