Linus: The Forgotten Days Review

Wow thanks so much for the review! I do agree with a lot of your criticisms and a lot of them are being addressed for the next demo release. I'm focusing a lot on making the story flow better and making it more easily digestible. Glad you enjoyed it though!

Graceless Reminiscence Review

Hey Blastfury.

Just wanted to chime in with my thoughts on the review. I haven't actually played the game to completion yet, but I have seen a bit of the game being played on youtube. As far as the similarities between my game and yours go, I don't think it was intentional and I don't really have any issues with GR. I do think you might've been inspired a bit by LINUS (I know you've been following the project for a few years now, ever since I posted those first videos on youtube) in the visual style and some of the music, but that's about it. I do hope to play this once you release the next chapters as I'm curious to see how the story plays out.

In any case, I think you've done a good job with the game and people seem to really like it, so you probably shouldn't worry too much over one bad review. The game seems to already have a bit of a following, and that's something to take pride in. :)

Linus: The Forgotten Days Review

Oh it's not a big deal, really. Some people were having trouble with the last download link (mediafire is blocking files that contain copyrighted music, it seems) so I'm hosting the demo on RMN now. :)

Linus: The Forgotten Days Review

Ha ha. Actually, now that you mention it, I have tons and tons of ideas for other stories that take place in this world. House Milhaven, Linus' family, has existed for hundreds of years and several of the members of the clan have lived... interesting lives. At some point, I do want to create a game based on Grace Milhaven, Linus' ancestor who founded the Etonmarch School. She has a pretty amazing story which I think would make for a great prequel. So yeah, maybe look out for a project called GRACE in a few years (hopefully on a bad ass 3D engine :p).

Linus: The Forgotten Days Review

Thanks for the review, Jaydee! I do agree with you that the story takes a while to get going in the prologue, but I felt it was necessary to slow things down a bit in order to give the scenario the weight that it needed. I'm also glad that you took note of the aesthetics, since I put quite a lot of effort into giving the world a certain feel and emotion. Too much time, I could say. :p

In any case, thanks for the feedback and for taking the time to download and play through the game!

Linus: The Forgotten Days Review

"Linus, when complete, will surely be one of the last, if not the last, great game made with RPGMaker VX."

*blushes* Oh I don't know about that. I'm sure there are a lot of people still using VX. I mean, there are still folks using 2k2 and XP ha ha.

In any case, thank you for the beautifully written review, Luchi. I'm happy to see that you enjoyed the game and that all of the elements seemed to click for you. I was kind of worried about the reception it would get since it's a bit of a slow burn and not very action-packed, but I'm glad that at least one person wasn't bored to tears with it. You probably noticed this while playing but I took some inspiration from Enelysion in a couple of the maps. The Emerald Deep was pretty much inspired by that creepy forest where you fight the Nyx for the first time. :p

You have a really amazing way with words and I think you should write more reviews if you can find the time. I'm sure a lot of folks could benefit from having you critique their games. I know you mentioned having some trouble with ACE running on your PC, so that could be an issue, but regardless, I'd love to see more reviews from you.

Anyway, thanks again for taking the time to play through the game (twice!) and for letting me know your thoughts. :)

Vacant Sky Vol. 1: Contention Review

Really awesome review, Karsuman. I agree with whoever said that you should review more games. :)

Valkyrie Stories - Escallion Rising Review

Completely off-topic, but isn't it called "anime"? I've never heard it called "animu" before. Anyway, great review.

Leo & Leah: A Love Story Review

I agree with the review's praising of the music. Using Alexandre Desplat's Fantastic Mr. Fox soundtrack was a stroke of genius. It really lends itself well to the game.

Spike Lee's The Twilight Zone Review

The pleasure (at times) was mine! And I apologize for some of the harsher words in the review. : {
