STATUS

People who make games for others to play for free should get only love in return, never hate.

Unless they amp it up as the next best thing, get a friend to give it a 5 star review, have it full of bugs and turn hostile when those bugs are pointed out, then rage on the community, leave, come back a few months later with an 'improved' version of the game where they didn't eliminate any of the bugs and just added new shit to an already over-bloated game, get hacked off when people point such out and leave again, only to come back in another couple of months to do the same shit over again.

Not saying they deserve hate, but love is a bit much to ask for in those situations. :/

That was actually kind of fun. I watched it for a whole minute.

I remember playing that game. It was epic.

You'll never get praise from me for making a bad game, otherwise I agree with this status.

Yeah, I don't know about love but hate is only for special cases.

That's an oversimplified and unrealistic way to approach it. No matter how unbearably terrible your game is, I have no right to tell you how unbearably terrible it is is what I'm getting from this status.

There's a difference between hate and criticism, but yeah, the status does seem a little oversimplified in its view.
You can tell someone his game is unbearable in a loving way.
But in truth, you should just avoid playing games you don't expect to enjoy.

Few are the times that a book can accurately be judged by its cover to a degree that it isn't worth reading. And besides, how are people going to grow if no one tells them early on that they're bad? I'd never "expect" to enjoy a beginner's game, but every once in a while there's a diamond in the rough or something that, despite its numerous flaws, shows promise.

You can't sugarcoat criticism, and leaving it up to someone else results in nothing ever getting done.
