Insurgence - Chains of Renegade

This game sure is somewhat pretty.... but I am disappointed for beating (i think she was called Lang in the intro?) with level 20 at the bridge (I grinded for 1h and 30 minutes for books.... I wanted to make Rissa stronger... and i succeeded. Fire 2 seemed to be her weakness (~900 damage per attack with an matk buff) coupled with the matk buff from lv 20 Diana and heal all 2 it was a walk in the park to defeat her (silence didnt stop her from healing somehow... was that a mistake? on your part?)... Anyways nice game so far. But I really wanted some extra experience for beating Lang or a changed scene.... like her aknowledging how strong we are but that we still arent enough to beat her... stuff like that... well anyways gonna continue playing now. (At least I got an SSR monster node for defeating her... good money.)

Also the guard that brought you to the "mountain" has a cutoff text if you talk to him after the mission. (And the game has quite a few grammar/wording mistakes and the like, but hey I am not expecting much for 4$. Just wanted to mention that cant help there I am way to lazzy to make a screenshot every time it happens, nevermind english isnt my first language so I could be wrong about a few things =P

Edit: If you leave that small mountain village to the south and continue south you will be teleported to the north of the small mountain village

Let's have a look at the battle system

Does PURGE use MP or WP? Hope to read furthermore in the future
PURGE doesn't cost anything to cast.

...Ok, that's not entirely true, it technically costs you money, since that is what is used to repair broken or discarded forms.

Is money limited? Or can we farm? I absolutely would second the ability to farm if it is not implemented for those that are.... bad at resource management or who simply wanna look "badass" most of the time. Though I guess ressource management would be interesting.... well not seen enough to judge something like that....

Also is purge an ability you can only use like once a battle? Or can it be used as often as you want? (Well I guess up to thrice a battle at most) If it is than it would be a interesting mechanic. Depending on how purge works (Does it end the round? Or is it an instant transformation and you are still taking damage? Do TP carry over or are they even used? Stuff like that) it could be used to.... mitigate or soften a blow enough that a strong comeback is possible. (Taking the damage to build up more TP (or to preserve TP you had) to use a fatal attack with the purge buff stuff like that basically....)

Crystal King - Aulmar K. Character Reveal

Possession? He certainly has interesting abilities, no surprise that the villagers may think of him as a .... hazard. Who would like beeing possessed? I know I would try to resist as much as I could. This reminds me of Damien from Umbral Souls with his puppeteering....not quite a hero ability but I am fine with that.... could really lead to.... interesting situations. Who did he "possess" before? Layla? I kinda doubt that.... anyways this could give him the ability to possess enemies in battle (if you want to do that, you can simply link the ability to an event that gives Aulmar a state that immoblizes him)so that they attack your enemies. Or to rob a shopkeeper... or to do some mischief..... ya know stuff like that.

Interesting..... so Aulmar is pretty much a warrior at least in spirit.... still doesnt explain how he got good at fighting.... (I mean he must be good to defeat the Fell creatures you mentioned if seasoned warriors are to afraid of them.... or maybe the... eye? Maybe the eye is something from an ancestor that shares his knowledge with him... would explain why he might learn stuff in a rather.... unorthodox way compared to "normals".)

To the part of beeing related I am still waiting for the new demo to come out =P But my guess is on the mysterious crystal king. But if the eye is that usefull... is it not more blessing than curse? There is something I am missing.... Or the whole idea why they cursed someone is wrong or maybe he is the wrong recipient. Or there is more than one curse (yes I just read the characters page and got some new ideas) the heartless king has a negative curse, Bhaz was turned into a bugbear, Aulmar has a crystal eye and no voice.... the later has additional abilities to make up for something like that he might not be related at all to the curse or the positive part of the curse, while the middle one might only have gained power thanks to the curse and might be the tool to break the curse for good but... why?.... the former though has a very deadly curse and got screwed over badly...

Might the caster be the "dragon" you hinted at? He might profit from a fair bit of infighting if he isnt all that strong after all... hmmm.... gotta think on that and maybe play the demo if that might help with my confusion =P If he isnt the caster than there is a fair chance he manipulated things into it....

Yeah I think I gotta wait for the demo. There are way to many possible variables and things I dont know to make a somewhat fitting conclusion I am currently grasping at straws and all of them are at best losely tied together.

Let's have a look at the battle system

.... sees this.... starts drolling.... looks at the text instead of the pictures.... drolling intensifies....... shout out: AWESOME!

Must have this... simply must have this... I gotta say Wheelman said exactly what I was thinking.... damn I hope this comes to steam or something like that soon but I doubt it will.... be honest you plot to kill us with the wait! Hmph what a vile and evil plan.... to bad it might even suceed. Well anyways I am looking forward to the finished product no matter how long I will have to wait...

Also the pictures look incredible. Especially the archdevil.

This Is Not My Final Form

Super fascinating premise! If only there weren't so many great games out there for FREE...

One should be ready to pay for something great.... dont misunderstand me I would be happy if it would be available for free later, but monetary gains motivates a creator much more than mere appreciation by his fans.... and it is much more likely to be finished.

(Goes back into hiding.)

This Is Not My Final Form

Hm changing forms midcombat sounds interesting.... I assume it alters your skillset and HP/MP as well? If yes that would make things interesting and add an interesting strategy element.

Also I did a quick google search for something like base parameter control and adjusting limits and came to yanfly's page
http://yanfly.moe/yep/ (his terms of use say free for both commercial and not commercial games but you can read them yourself =P)
Just brows his plugins they may be helpful if you want to make a boss with more than 9999 HP and have more control over stat growth. (I mean come on what endboss has less than..... alright I could name a few but thats besides the point... *cough*)

Anyways i am off for now... yet again good luck.

Crystal King - Aulmar K. Character Reveal

Sorry I am late with my ideas but i was... distracted. Got a few new books and have spent all my time reading.

Well that is a bomb.
I am interested... how does he communicate with the party if he is mute? Do we know the sign language or is simply a feeling of "he might want to do that or that".

Anyways..... on a less serious note than before he was probably cursed for stealing the cookies of the princess since he liked them so much he thought it would be a worthwhile trade... his eye for some cookies. A truly admireable trait.

Well on a more serious note I think one eye was turned into s crystal.

To make actual guesses I know far to little about the bugger apart from him beeing born mute (how did he survive his childhood if he was as hated and was blamed for every catastrophy? Was there a lack of catastrophes to blame on him? Where his parents royals or otherwise influental people that could keep him alive?). Who trained him? Someone must have taken it upon himself to train him... and he must have been paid well to train the one bringing misfortune, maybe even an outsider... which leads me back to the idea that he is the son of a rich trader or the royals. If my previous ideas where right he might be a key "reagent" to get rid of the curse if the orcs where part of the group casting the curse.... which I kinda doubt. But I wonder why only an eye might have turned into a crystal. And if he was a baby growing up cursed how did it survive if the curse is as deadly as i thought? Might it not work on something basic as I thought Or does he have a different curse alltogether? There is to little to go on to make any worthwhile ideas. Maybe he is a reincarnator and some higher entity sealed his voice and made him unable to learn to write so he cant tell anyone what he knows? Heck its farfetched but it wouldnt surprise me. Anyways maybe give me something more to go on please? =P

This Is Not My Final Form

This sounds interesting.... subscribed.

I do hope that we will actually have more HP than the enemy.... beeing a annoying damage sponge with mean attacks is what makes a nice boss.... No good boss fight under 15minutes.... nah just kidding about the last part but I still have hope for that... =P
Anyways I hope you get enemies to use a sort of strategy....(like a change of attacks if they use a buff on themselves, use a buff/heal after x turns, or maybe even a different attack pattern based on the endboss level.... MV is rather free with its costumisation I am pretty sure you can also make a trigger if a certain switch is on or off.... heck there are a lot of options) because if the gameplay is the same as playing as a hero it would be boring and kinda defeat the point of beeing the last boss. In most cases Umbral Souls was still awesome. If you cant find a stat limit break script maybe work with smaller numbers and costumize the damage calculation instead of using the pre done ones. Maybe even find ways to block certain skills until you reach a certain HP point or MP point (like mana apsorption if mana hits 50%) in the worst case you could add stats that grant skills that you add after X health is lost in a fight. Maybe there are even plugins for that...

Well I do wish you luck with your endeavor. Balancing a game playing as the boss will be a pain in the butt.

But I think the idea of having different forms is nice... will I be able to switch them during combat as well? That would make for an interesting mechanic.

Alpha 0.37 - Progress Report - Lord's Gate Improvement

Hmmm differen types of difficulty built in quests? I hope that this is worth it somehow if you "solve" the problem with different types of "combat" or solutions.

To the spells... maybe mention what they do in the description instead of saying you learn spell XXX.
For an example:
Scroll of Mana Drain: A scroll which teaches you how to drain an opponents mana.
(I am not 100% sure how the others work even if my guess on Mana draw is that you draw the mana from an ally to replenish your own.... the other three I have only guesses what they could possibly do. Which is bad from the perspective of the buyer.... if you dont want to change that, how about introducing a character that tells you what each scroll teaches you?)

Crystal King - Intro added, no shop run possibility??

Now you are throwing a big bone there to me.... assuming that is the case we first have to "divine" or otherwise know what type of dragon it is. The western ones? The eastern ones? Powerwise the eastern ones in the story are far, far more powerful than your average mortal.... shaking the skies and earth with their appearance alone and stuff like that... western ones though are much more tame but often depicted as way more greedy (which makes me think its a western one) and weaker in comparison. They dont shake the earth and split the heavens and all that nonsense they at most use magic, are intelligent, throw around stone melting breaths (or depending on the type making it freeze and shatter.... stuff like that) and are often after gold (in many cases not nearly in all). Than there are all the variants oh boy.... lets not get into that or we will be here for a long, long time. Or it may be a hoax and what they have is simply someone strong imitating a dragon... or someone weak with strong Illusion skills. oh boy you are getting me thinking and I cant afford to get sidetracked so much you evil, evil bugbear.... xD

Anyways assuming its a greedy western one (or a human illusionist or something like that) that would explain why the orc and humans united. The orcs did not have the gold to appease the dragon while humans do (which explains why they would bring huge amounts of their currency) and humans like always want to control something that is beyond them, alas the dragon, and in an attempt to control the dragon agreed to the marriage. But things didnt go as well as they hoped. Even after paying most of their currency to the dragon there were no signs of it just taking the money and obeying oh no, it grew even greedier! A catastrophe for the folks living in the lands of the dragon. It only allowed people to live there if they pay them a certain amount of gold each year which is why humans want to do business with pretty much everyone in the area or to rob them (See how humans may want to duel a bugbear? For their gold! And if you win its free looting!). Everywhere fights broke out as humans had no way back and as they were on the loosing end they decided to just say "fuck it" if we gotta go we go with a bang and did a huge ritual cursing the leaders of the orcs, bugbears, etc with the crystal whatever curse. (I assume it does forbid something mundane and if broken costs the cursed ones live) The bugbear king though was too powerful to entirely succumb to it and instead turned into a crystalized heart that turns every human that touches it into something akin to him, that has the power than to break the curse at a certain cost.

And so the game begins.... honestly I like my previous idea better and I am sure I could come up with something better, but hey I did my best for the five minutes I gave myself.

Anyways Sounds interesting bugbear. No Shops entirely is a bad idea. I like the idea of merchant battles but there must be some incentive for merchants (who are normally not fighters) to do something like that. Maybe each shop has a designated bodyguard used to guard the shop and they are usually pretty strong so the merchant allows fights for a fee for each attempt giving up to 30% price reduction if the battle is won. Maybe its a tradition they took from the orcs? Orcs sound like they would do something like that...
