I dunno how to feel about having the face graphic right in the middle of the screen...It's kinda cool "in your face!" and all but it's kinda obstructive at the same time.

May I make a quick suggestion for this dialogue box?
"Alright kid, listen here. I know this is gonna sound a bit weird but let me join you."
Combining the first two sentences makes the dialogue flow better. The word sound was also misspelled and is now fixed. When you have to complete clauses joined by a conjunction, there's no need for a comma before the conjunction.

My advice to you is to set new layers on multiply and color that way. It's the easiest way to color and you don't have to use the pesky fill bucket.

The lighting is slightly ambiguous here. There seem to be two layers of shadows? It's just a little difficult to see where the light source is.
