void_cristal_chamber.jpg

This is an old area. I used Bryce to create the scenery. It's one of the 4 crystal chambers on the game.

Been working on a game for years, haven't given up.

Thanks for the encouragement everyone!

I'm approaching 4 years now, on a project that was originally mean to be a simple re-write and a re-skin.

Now it's a full blown remake with all the lore expanded upon, plot completely changed up, and a plethora of new characters, systems, and designs.

...Yeah. On one point, I feel a little silly letting a simple project blow up into this. But on another point, this project is my passion, so seeing it finished will be a sad day as well.

I don't expect to be super famous or successful with it's release as the project mostly caters to myself in terms of fun factor and design, but releasing it will still no doubt be interesting.

I think that's admirable to see a project like that to completion. I'll subscribe to your channel and make sure I play it when you finish it (and that goes for anyone else on this form).

Still working on it.

Hey, thanks. I appreciate that! I'll keep you updated.

Been working on a game for years, haven't given up.

I'm not sure if anyone here can relate, or not. Several years ago, in highschool I started on a project called Void. The game started out as a game just to test out the engine, but it evolved into something quite ambitious.

Anyway, I started the game in highschool, and I am 27 now. For some reason, I still pick it up every once in a while and work on it from time to time. There is about 11 dungeons in the game, and I have about 9 complete. I have also gone back and redesigned the entire game. I also have multiple times stopped all work on the game for a couple of years, only to eventually return to it.

I was wondering if anyone has been in my shoes and can relate to what I am talking about.

Here is a link to the game.

I was also shocked to see that the last time I posed was back in 2008, 5 years ago!

A port would be HOURS of work so I do not recommend doing that. You should just finish it on RM2k since you have been working on it for so long. Another chapter, or part 2 of the game you can start on the newer makers like XP, VX or even just move up to 2k3 if you don't want the BIG change.

Yeah I'll see what I can do.

Hopefully for this version, the out of battle game play, will generate enough interest. I really want it to be enjoyed by as many people as possible, especially after such hard work.

Same here ... It was a bit boring and the battles did not look exciting at all :|
The only thing i can say I like about it is the fact that the monsters chase you when you get near them ...

The boulder definitely woke me up, but then put me back to sleep when you still died after (what appeared to be) you doing a good job running away from the boulder.

Yeah, thanks. The giant bolder part is only a taste of whats to come in the final game.

Do you have any suggestions on how I can improve the battles and make them more interesting?

I'm an ABS person ... so I can't really give suggestions on how to make your battles more interesting as the turn-based system just does not interest me.But in RM2k3 they makes use of a real-time "ATB" system which interest me more and is why I moved on to RM2k3

Yeah, I agree. I've considered porting the game over to 2k3, yet I've already been working on the game for over two years, and it seems like it will be a lot of work, and at the same time some of the boss fights actually seem better from a "behind the character" perspective.

If I can figure out a good way to make the characters face, upward, in battles, and have it animate properly, including the run away animation, I might consider making a port.
