My Screenshot is Bigger Than Yours!

Same here ... It was a bit boring and the battles did not look exciting at all :|
The only thing i can say I like about it is the fact that the monsters chase you when you get near them ...

The boulder definitely woke me up, but then put me back to sleep when you still died after (what appeared to be) you doing a good job running away from the boulder.

Yeah, thanks. The giant bolder part is only a taste of whats to come in the final game.

Do you have any suggestions on how I can improve the battles and make them more interesting?

Starless Umbra

Wow, this looks pretty impresive!

Decided to upload a video finally.

Rock Chase

All of the music and some of the graphics used are custom created.

Uh, let's go ahead and lock this thread. I think it's best that I start over on this topic anyway.

"If you are posting about your game, you must have at least two screenshots, a link to a website, or a link to the actual download itself."

If I understand that correctly I can post info or a link web page about my game.

Sorry to tell you, but

Advertising submissions require at least 2 paragraphs, 4-5 sentences each, of information. You are also required to have at least 3 screenshots showing some form of in-game play.

So you need some screenshots. Hop to it.

Alright, I understand. Sorry, I'm a bit new on forms.

I'm away from my home computer, and I need to gather some resources, but I will be putting up more info ASAP.

Thanks for ignoring what I said. If you don't post information on your game here, this thread is going to be locked. -_- Read the rules, buddy.

Yeah the rules state,

"If you are posting about your game, you must have at least two screenshots, a link to a website, or a link to the actual download itself."

I'm not trying to cause any problems, I just want to share my site with you guys.

If this is the wrong place to simply post a web page, tell me which board I should post it on.

the site looks ok, but really, if you want to advertist you should put it here, in the forums

Yeah, I agree. I will be putting more info out on the forms. I made that site for a final project for a web design class. I finally got some web space, and I wanted to put the site on the forms instead of just sitting on it.

This is a web site I made while back about a game I have been working on for a couple of years. It has by-far became I much more abitious project than I originally anticipated.

The page currently in draft form, and it may have a few grammatical errors, (and few broken images) which I will be fixing ASAP, but any feed back on the site, or the game, would be appreciated.

Edit: I'll also try to get some videos up of the game if anyone is interested in seeing them.

NPC Dialogue.

One thing that has led me to a lot of NPC inspiration is the charas character generator. I've had a lot of fun comming up with unique looking outfits and designs, and imagining what thier personality might be like. Also, I've gotten as carried away as to give every single NPC thier own unique name.

What I usually try to do when writing my own NPC is give each character their own sub-story that may or may not be relivant to the game. For instance one of my recent towns had a cave which the town kids enjoyed playing in. One of the houses has the parents of one of the children. The father talks about how great a town it is to raise a family. The mother referres to her child playing with his friends in the cave.

Inside the cave the kids are playing some game of "pretends." One kid is pretending to the the "Evil henchmen, Gadzooka." Someone else is playing the hero. One kid is off hiding from the other kids, and he states "Shh.. don't tell the others I'm here."

Generally I just say, get wierd and creative, take risks, go wild, and make sure you are having as much fun as possible doing it. My philosophy in design, is that if I am having fun creating it, other people are more likely to have fun playing it.

Vista 64 bit Compatability

Hey, my bro is looking into buying a new laptop, but a concern we both have is if RPG Maker 2000\2003, will work with it.

It is a 64 bit laptop, and it has vista on it, but I will be able to dual boot it with XP.

Do I need to have any concerns with compatability, or should it run without a problem?
