Another way to do it is to become an administrator, then take advantage of the power to showcase your projects on the frontpage.
You so bad.
Not really

You the practice of self-promotion ... our beloved politicians and megacorporations are really masters @ it. And yeah, just because you did doesn't mean we can't give you a hard time about it (I think most people probably just gloss over RMN's main page, so it's no biggie unless something deserving gets squeezed out).

Gaming Advice With Professor Know-It-All: How To Become A Somebody In The Gaming Community And Get More Groupies

Bottom line, give in order to (hopefully) receive or "You reap what you sow".

As always, a good read, Addit. Now, about that that RMN Strip Loose Comic ...

My basic mapping commandments

So that's how you are able to get those visual goodies ... I had a sense there was something special about the way you made things. I'll keep this tutorial in mind whenever I do get around to make anything of my own so that my RTPishness (lack of artistic skill) isn't bland or boring.

Interview: Deckiller talks Early Development, the Learning Curve, and Good Teamwork

Yes, "Resistance is Futile!". Although the way some RMN members write, they already have been absorbed into the Collective.

Methodical Chaos I -or- An Introduction to Randomness in Game Design

Randomness does have a place in games that don't rely on pure skill. I do like your idea of rewarding players willing to take chances (or making them pay, greedy fools!).

Interview: Hirei talks School Projects, Reincarnation: Dawn of War and Early Influences

Mint Chocolate, you say, not quite my favorite, but Top 5 for sure! You have been involved in some interesting things. I get the feeling you'll be very successful at your craft. Another outstanding interview, tbg!

Interview: Ronove talks Art & Creativity, the Misaos, and "Ephemeral Prince: Fleeting"

Your interviews have acquired the same level of relevancy for me as Tau's "Looking Back" and sbester's "Fan Masters" series. Somebody ought to return the favor and interview you, tbg.

Interview: Deckiller talks Early Development, the Learning Curve, and Good Teamwork

Interesting interview. So I should take it that not having a single review or article rejected so far means I must be doing something right? I do hope I'm that lucky when I get around to submitting a game to RMN (sometime in 2014 sounds about right). Having some sort of Newbie Corner seems a good way from preventing people from jumping ship early in the Dev process. I would be kind of the equivalent of the "Student Driver" (lookout!). Anyway, Deckiller, thanks for sharing and tbg keep those insightful interviews coming!

EDIT: Somehow it just occurred to me that our Alexander Rozhenko could be mawk and our Geordi La Forge could be ankylo. I guess we could go on and on with this ...

Gaming Advice With Professor Know-It-All: How To Deal With Negative Criticism / Feedback

Good read. Hopefully, especially those sensitive developers take heed, Prof and we avoid some flair ups. BTW, #9 = Turn your frown upside down. (:
