Character poses (sprite help)

I need someone to help me turn a few character models into various poses so that I can use them in battles. I'm trying to make a Final Fantasy 6 type of look for the fights.

Text question

Is there a way to fix the text in RPG Maker 2003? I downloaded the program and the letters seem to overlap at certain times. For example:

As you can see, certain letters overlap. I was just wondering if maybe there was a download to fix it like there was in RM2k.


A dumb question, but still

Does anyone familar with Rm2k3 know where the option is to make it so that your character jumps forward when he attacks in a fight? I took a few months off of my project and now that I'm back, I can't seem to find the answer to this. One of my characters jumps forward, while the rest do not. I remember setting this before, but how did I do it?

Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World

I don't know about the rest of you, but I really enjoyed the last Tales game on the GCN, so the upcoming sequel is looking really cool. This isn't a typical Tales sequel, because, like Final Fantasy, the Tales games have never been direct sequels (i.e. same characters, time periods), but this one is. It's sort of like what happened with FFX and FFX-2, except I'm really hoping it doesn't suck (because let's face it, FFX-2's story was horrendous).

You can read up on the info here. It's getting released later this year in the US. The only downside I see so far is that the original voice cast isn't returning, which sucks because they were (mostly) pretty good. On the bright side, the characters will all return and most will be playable (no one's sure about Lloyd), along with several newcomers.

Anyone else getting it?

Sprite help

I've run into a snag in the sprite development of my game, and I was wondering if anyone on these boards was any good at sprite art. It would be nice to have someone edit a character (or at least provide a model for me to base their poses off of) of a climbing animation. I have a scene where the character climbs a ladder, and I just don't like the way it looks. Can anyone help?

If I could just get a sprite to model it off of, I'd be able to do it. I'm just not sure what it should look like since I haven't been lucky enough to play a game with the animation in it.

Is it possible?

I was just wondering if anyone knew if there was a way to make other keys such as M or P or whichever usable in rm2k? I have a custom menu, but I'd like to be able to access the regular menu by using another key. Ideas?

Hi folks

Hey guys, I posted a help thread a few weeks ago (which many of you were kind enough to post in, thanks again!), but I wanted to actually introduce myself.

I found this place thanks to YummyDrumsticks, and I have to say this is probably one of the better Game Making sites I've seen. ;D

My game is called "The Fall", but you can all read about it in the games section after it gets accepted. It isn't finished by any means, but any advice or opinions will be helpful.

Anyway, glad I found this place and I expect I'll be posting pretty regularly. ;)

Question about rm2k event problem

I'm trying to make a switch that requires a player to push a pillar (or another object) onto it in order for the switch to activate, sort of like in the Zelda games. Anyone know how to do this?

Note: the switches and pillar are all events.
