One quick question

Um... sorry, no. I'm using RM2K3. If you can't do it for RM2K3, that's fine, but I'm going to specify as much as possible right now.

Basically, exactly what you said.
Except for, instead of eventually learning the option of choosing "Fire" or "Fire-All", it is simply initially installed into the ability when you learn it. And for the battle ex.

Vincent chooses "Fire" in the "Magic" skill subset menu, and it shows either "single target" or "all targets". If he chooses "single target", then the little hand pops up and he chooses his target, or if he chooses "all targets", the action is set and his turn is over; and of course, fire is cast on all enemies.
I would do it for many more spells other than fire, though. I have fire, ice, bolt, water, aero, and quake 1-3, and other magic like Bio and Cure.
So, if you need me to be any more specific, just ask, but that's basically what I would need in a nutshell..

Now, I don't know if I would want there to be a key to be pressed in order to decide "One" or "All" targets, or if I want to simply make separate spells... if you could script that for me, that would be fantastic.

How do you earn AP?

Hey guys, mantlecore again.

I'm working on an RM2K3 project and I'm trying to design a system where you earn AP after every battle. AP is a variable which you can spend in a skill tree in order to learn abilities.
The problem is that I don't know how to make every battle earn different AP amounts to the hero... if that doesn't make sense, I really don't know how else to describe it...

Let's say you run into a slime. You beat him. I want it to show that you earned 1 AP.
Yay!

Then you run into a dragon. You beat him. I want it to show that you earned 10 AP instead of 1 like the slime...

Can anyone help me!?

One quick question

Alright, I'm trying to save myself a little bit of time, so if anyone can answer this yes or no,
that would be great.

Is it possible to make a skill able to target one OR all targets at once?
For example.

Can I make fire able to target one slime OR all of the monsters?
or do I just have to make spells like Fire & Fire-All

Alright, here's the same file but in the zip variety.

I never knew that there was an actual bug for 3 lines instead of 4, interesting. I assumed it was just missing that the fourth line was empty because I used to make that mistake.

Font Issue
I'm assuming you're getting the horrible looking font where letters run together and it looks like a blind kid made it. If you want to make a new font and put it into your RPG Maker game, I can't help you there.

Download this, and put the msgothi0.ttf and msmincho.ttf files into your Windows/Font directory and see if that fixes the problem.

If it doesn't, try replacing your RPG_RT.exe with the one in the .rar. If that doesn't do it...


4 Line Issue
RM2k(3) supports four lines by default. If you're writing a message and you can't get to the fourth line by pushing Enter, try pushing down. The fourth line likely already exists but it's empty and it looks like you only have three lines.

Hey guys. I'm a newbie, I guess you could say. I'm not bad at design, but would SOMEONE please give me a specific tutorial on how to get good font for RM2K3????

And if someone could explain to me how to get a message box that holds 4 lines instead of 3...
