First Official Playthrough! Above Hell KingKobra Playthrough Part 1

Above Hell

Awesome, let me know if you have better luck with it or need more advice. Happy to help you get suckered in :)

Above Hell

Wow, I love the feedback honestly. I totally get it, getting into the game is the most challenging part I think. I totally understand the frustration starting out, which I would recommend on your first try, maybe try it on easy mode :) start over and choose easy. You get a bonus perk point that way.

I do agree that the fetch quests are very basic and repetitive. I do want to mention that there are a TON of rewards and secrets to discover outside of the normal bombs, keys and gold. You just gotta slash through everything and discover them all. I would recommend just picking up hearts in your first play through and don’t worry about getting those big secrets (triggered by statues). First time attempting it, just play it to have fun, not accomplish challenges.

I suggest exploring everything in the first area (you’ll find the gun and the magic spell book) and by the time you start a new area, you should be powered up enough to do some damage. Start with that, then move to the forest to the east. Then go where you want from there.

So you're still alive and kicking^^

A pretentious reviewer of the past greets you and looks forward to playing your newest game :)

Still alive and kicking!!! Haha super exciting you’re giving it a try. Let me know if you get stuck or need any help! Hit me up through email and I’ll probably reply pretty quickly.

At what point do you declare your project "finished"?

For me, a game is completed when it has become 100% the game I wanted it to be. During the process, I try as best I can to avoid overthinking it, and instead focus on what I had in mind when I started it.

Creating many small games that are all part of the universe I've created allows me to not get into situations where I take on too much, or even get lost in concepts that were planned too big from the start.

That's a good way to think. I've known far too many people who come up with these MASSIVE game ideas and try to bite off more than they can chew, then end up just getting burnt out and not finishing it.

Just focus on your end goal and like you said, don't overthink it. Then, when you finally reach the ending to your game, you can go back and start adding all the fun little bells and whistles that actually make it 100% what you want it to be.

Thanks so much! Look forward to hearing about your progress. There's a YouTuber that's doing a play of the game now and is releasing episodes fairly regularly, so if you're struggling at any point feel free to check out his channel, he's following the game guide and demonstrates well how to solve the puzzles and find hidden content. I've linked to his channel in the "media" section on this game page.

Also I noticed you've been very active with your own game, I do plan on trying it out again with the new updates, just gotta finish a few other things first!

Hey no problem at all. I will check out his channel for sure because that would be super exciting, watching play through videos of my own game.

Back to your game...I just got past the assassin training, the combat seems like it will be very fun. The music is extremely nice too, which really helps me immerse myself into the game.

But the biggest aspect about that game that got me REALLY excited, was the lock-picking system you have going on. AMAZING!! I can't wait to explore places and try to lock pick to find nice treasures. I love little things like that.

I will keep you posted as I play through it.

Started playing this game. Just had to say, so far, visually gorgeous... Great job putting it all together. I love the effect how the word pops up that tells you where you are, like "House", "Game Shop", etc. I'll be giving you updates as I play.

Preemptive congrats on the new addition to the family.

I know this is a month old post but w/e. I'm also seeking an answer to this question. I find myself some days obsessing over the most minute of details and wonder when enough will be enough. Will it ever? lol

I hope you're able to release the shackles of game making successfully when the time comes, and good luck with fatherhood!

Thanks a bunch for your kind words! :) And yeah, I'm SUPER excited. I know everyone complains about lack of sleep and what not, but I like to focus on the positives, as they greatly outweigh that negative aspect. Also, you can get enough sleep with strategy.

Yep, I am still tweaking my current project almost every day. Still not 100% satisfied, and I feel like I won't OFFICIALLY be declaring it "done" until the baby comes into the world and my current lifestyle does a 180, lol. So, probably very soon.

Basically, the more accurately you rate inns, the higher your reviewer score and it will ultimately lead to a benefit later on in the game. Each inn lists pro's/con's about it and that's how you can decide whether the place deserves a 1, 2, 3, or 4 star rating.

Confusing? Maybe a little at first, but the more inns you rate, the more it will make sense, and the more exciting it is to see what your approval rating gravitates towards with each new inn you encounter.

Try it in the new version!
