Version 1.1c, Manaleech is broken. Has no effect on most enemies, crashes game on rattys and skeletons that I've tested.
Final Fantasy VIII: Sleeping Lion Heart
Lol, I wasn't expecting to be at such a high level at the start, it was kind of a shock. I kinda worry what directions characters could grow from that level, but you prolly have something in mind to step up the challenge or dial them down a few notches.
Squall was powerful, but not totally Mary Sued out. His skills made sense and he lacked the type of skills that would have made it too much of a cakewalk. Beating the boss would have been really tough without the defense skill. It was still a bit of a grind through the soldiers though, I'd suggest tossing a tougher elite Galbadian or two into the troops with a few tricks up their sleeves.

The Here and Now of Yesterday
Say, I was wondering what sort of stuff was new for the RSW version? I can't find any info anywhere.
Also, should we merge or replace?

no-one has to die.
I stumbled on this last night and played it through past bed time, it's a great game! The puzzles are maybe a little too easy, but I did have to start over on a few, so there was a small level of challenge.

OMGsh, so good! *drooldrool*
*ahem* Apart from the obvious stuff that's great, the screen tone was nice during the Lorenz nighttime scene. This is the first RM game I've played where the darkness looked decent.
There's tons of little things like that, all over the game, showing the extra layer of polish you've put into this. It could easily be a commercial game.

How is that possible? I made the character sets first, drew the portraits and used the very same colors from the same DS palette @_@
I'm thinking now that Lady Thes...Tres...Tahari's sprite does actually have green hair like her portrait, but with the highlights combined with her crown, it looked like the sprite was blond.
Natalie though, was my first main character, so her dark-haired portrait, light-haired sprite really stuck out. Now that I've had a little more experience to see this isn't common, it's almost cute how her hair doesn't match up.
BTW, I'm sorry about nitpicking it, but this and the waterfall were literally the only flaws I found. Beautiful game overall. :D

Ok, I'm getting frazzled trying to sample what I can and give every game a shot before voting closes when this game struts up with a big smug grin and tells me its a dungeon crawler. Yeah, sure, this'll be -totally- unique and enjoyable, I -totally- don't want the concept of grinding to kill itself via volcano-assisted jumping by this point.
Unfortunately, it turns out this is a seriously pretty game that presents itself well and is actually fun to play. The inspiration from Etriann Odyssey is clear, but the game still has its own flavor.
My biggest problem is the inconsistency between some of the portraits and sprites. When everything looks so good, it's that much more grrr-inducing to see hair-color not matching up with the game's most important NPC, let alone the characters. There is also a waterfall tile I noticed at the beginning of the dungeon that looked seriously butt in the middle of everything looking so good; like a spot of yellow on a pristine field of fresh snow.

OMGness, I've been cut-scene jumped into enough inescapable walls I could swear this was the Philadelphia Experiment.
Overall, the game has a charm and great characters that do well enough to bring the funny and draw one into the gameworld. Some of the dialogue around the actual gags and bits could use a little of the old '25th hour' polish though. 'Don't you sweat-drop at me!' was hilarious at any rate.
Also, thank you for giving us characters who actually had lives before the title screen and were statted up accordingly. Over the past week I've played way too many games as some forgettable cypher who does nothing but spam attack against a backdrop of, y'know, plot and/or whatever going on and by the time they start to evolve, my disinterest has reached critical mass. This introduced me to some characters and events I actually want to remember and hopefully you can continue it.
