MORDENGLORY'S PROFILE

An avid lover of Role playing games, and a Dungeon master with 4 campaigns under my belt. I like adventure time, mario, and megaman. I'm always working on creating something, whether it's an RPG or some form of craft. I'm always happy to hear when my work is liked by people that have played them. Although I'm just as glad when I get to experience a truly moving game.

In this case, I let Jayje run with a single line instead of two separate Pokemon (as was originally planned) because we had a few submissions with less opressive level 1-5 stats/movepools that could still fit in. In this case, I was thinking mordenglory's Miceberg and Jparker's Gustling could fit the role.

I'm happy to hear that Miceberg is goin' in an early route. I took a good look at pokemon being submitted and I saw a trend that most were very powerful and better suited for late game. Also, every pokemon needs a Rattata, for both good and bad guys. Except my Miceberg is in the top percentages of Micebergs!

To offer a suggestion about a much earlier post about the pokemon trainer types, I was wondering if a farmer would make an interesting type. It would be kind of like the fishermen trainers in such the farmer could use pokemon that we could imagine that would appear domesticated. I'm not 100% what the line up of pokemon is now, but if there are any pokemon based on farm animals, then they could work with this kind of trainer. Not dragging red-neck stereotypes into the mix that is :P

Pokémon RMN Version

You could always take a page from the PokeFans, and dress the player in an actual pokemon costume! Although that might be what you meant for goofy, I think that it would be a nice touch to have the main trainer, and future elite four champion dressed like a Pokemon. It would be a hell of a thing to sprite, but I'm all for the idea

Pokémon RMN Version

Made an actual fish pokemon with a legit real world evolution. Darwin would be proud. Otherwise, I can't wait to see the legendary/fossil pokemon done!

Also, I just thought of a really clever idea. How about after the elite four, it unlocked an area with pokemon trainers named after people that created pokemon that made it into the game! They could create a team based on the pokemon that they submitted and then the player would have to challenge those people!

Let me know what you think of this, I really want this to be a thing!

Edit:
Speaking of fossil pokemon, What's going on with them? I haven't seen anything so far...

mordengloryNachash - APPROVED!
- Maybe remove its back legs to make it a little bit more similar to its evolution, but that's just my suggestion.

- I was thinking "nachos" with its name. :P

In the forums they shouted; Remove those legs!
So if you want, just remove the back legs. It would make it more similar to Ddraig.

On a side note, I did a quick, tentative sketch of the region's map. Please let me know if there is anything you don't like or want me to change, or input your own ideas!

The image is huge, so here is a link:

Because some things on this map may not be clear:
- "The Other Cycling Road" is meant to be an abandoned cycling road that was shut down due to numerous accidents. Its the primary home of several freaky ghost pokemon.

- Around Route 3 I plan for some sort of obstacle to get in the players way of progressing to route 4, which explains why the path branches to the side towards Newprodge city (also where the first gym is encountered). Route 8 has a similar method, which is also why there is a South and North entrance to Bitroar Cave.

- Mt. Cavora is aptly named after seiromem's legendary, and is the primary spot that it'll be encounterd, assuming seriomem doesn't decide to pull his entry.

- Starsteal City is meant to be on a floating landmass, with clouds you can walk on. Makes sense iknorite?

- Route 6 is meant to be a swampy area, to accomodate to the submissions. I (tried to) indicated it with blotches of water and skinny trees.

- While I unconsiously drew a mini-smoke effect over Mt. Cavora, it's meant to be an inactive volcano covered in snow, to make room for the Ice-type Pokemon. I'm thinking the cave of the area would start icy-themed, while as you venture deeper towards the volcano's core, it would become hotter.

Check it, here is the link

Dragon/fighting pokemon submitted. That's a first for pokemon.

- I may sound strict with this, but you still did a good job with this submission overall! I can see it going somewhere in the Bitwroar Ruins (has ANYONE seen my map sketch yet!?).

Yeah, you're map looks solid. I like the looks of it, and it reminds me of most pokemon games as it keeps the key features of most pokemon games.
1. A long ocean route
2. Mt. something area
3. A cave network connecting 2 towns
4. One way paths blocked by un-passable cliffs/other gimick

I'm also a big fan of Gamedev forest. I feel like I'm really going to like it there :3

Acariphagous- denied
- Only because of the name. It is two characters over the 10 char limit. As stated in my last judging session, the reason it needs to be 10 or lower is so that it can work in Essentials. Maybe "Acarphagus" (10 Chars total)?

Yeah, I'm glad that you got that it was based on a scarab! Acarphagus sounds great to me, sorry I forgot about that 10 letter limit. I was using a naming theme based on insect terminology, but I don't think many entomologists are really going to hate on us if we butcher a couple names.

mordengloryEntire Akashic Line - denied
- Only reason is because the ability Magic Guard doesn't work in Essentials, and the moves Trick Room and Wonder Room don't work either. Let me know what you want me to do about this.

- I'm glad you are making pokemon that can work well in the earlier routes of the game!

If you could just change Magic Guard to Inner focus I figure that would work well. Magic guard is really over powered anyways. And for Wonder room, maybe just replace it with "Healing wish" for Atavism at lvl 55 (I kind of envisioned a phoenix when making this pokemon) and "Heal block" for wonder room in the two earlier evolutions.

And just remove Trick room as a learnable TM move.

I'm hoping that's all you'll need in order to make them acceptable. Otherwise I've definitely got the hang of creating pokemons. I'm really happy that I can create type combinations that really haven't been done before, thanks to this project.

P.S. Thank gosh for all the bird watching I've been doing lately!

Dibs on making a ground/ice type!
