Alright, I've got a good feeling about it this time. Balanced hopefully everything about the alternate evolution from moves, to stats. I'm glad that you're challenging me to make sense of these pokemons Ratty, so hopefully we'll see about getting 4 more pokemon into the game.

Those starters look amazing! Glad that we'll have someone with a talented drawing ability working with us on this project. I'll really need that when you look at the crap drawings I've given you.

I'm hoping that it's cool that for the 4 pokemon I've submitted are all from one branching evolution tree, with troxin being the weird one of the bunch requiring a leaf stone. I'm not 100% on the limitations of RPG maker XP, but hopefully it'll all work out.

Haunted Tower - ugh, this level gets the "fuck you" award for being the level that made me say "fuck you" the most times. I managed to do it without dying but I must have ended up back at the start 15 times. A true ghost house level. I learned something interesting, when you spin jump ghosts don't move, so I basically kept spinning the whole level and avoided some potentially dangerous situations. Shutters are not the same resolution as the rest of the gfx, looks odd.


Lol, a true ghost house eh? Well that's what I was going for, so your reaction seems perfect to me. The shutters probably could have been done better but I appreciate that you didn't find too much to rip on.

I was thinking about respriting the shy guys, though I think I'd just use a different shy guy sprite. Shy Guys are already fairly Halloween-ish to me, what with masks and all. And they're associated with Kamek in Yoshi's Island.


Good point. I also liked the music quite a bit; I forgot to mention that earlier but I really liked the music choices made throughout the game. The level with the theme to halloween town also really blew me away.

I really like what you did with the ending. I played through your wizard tower final level and found it to be much easier then the majority of the other levels which was nice considering all the pain and suffering it took to get there. The final battle with kamek, I managed to beat which tells me it's challenging, yet a good difficulty. The eries flying by kind of pissed me off, but they were only doing a good job adding to the challenge of the fight.

My only concern with that final boss is about the shy guys. Is it possible to use a re-sprited shy guy that's a little bit more scary perhaps in the final battle. It seems like the shy guys were a little out of place, but that could just be me.

Anyways, exiting the boo house and the credits were simple, clean, and effective. I actually watched the credits through to the end as it was enjoyable as the theme fit really well with fall and halloween. I'm really happy with it overall, you did a great job putting it all together Solitayre.

Also, thanks for looking into it Solitayre, I just found that when I was playing through this game that lives were scarce. It would be good if getting that 3-up would be slightly easier for people playing.

So I played through the collab and I noticed a couple changes in my level (I'm not sure about any others) that were needed and some that need to be addressed.

First of all, I really like how you were able to change the intro to the level as to make it fit with the overall collab theme of one giant mansion. That was necessary and I appreciate your creativity. However, when you removed the flying power up you made it impossible to obtain the 3-up moon. My suggestion would just be adding a small platform making it possible to make that jump. Lastly my username is Mordenglory not modernglory (although I do like the sounds of that, I'll have to steal that name from you sometime in the near future)

Anyways, I don't mean to lay the hate down on you, I just really want this game to be perfect. Remember, I criticise only because I love :P

I'm really happy that my level made it into the collaborative event; Quality versus quantity I guess. Sorry to hear about all the people whose feelings got hurt from the whole rejection process but lets all be reasonable about this.

There were 27 levels (give or take a couple) and Solitayre only really wanted to take the best 10-12. I understand that overall the refinement period could have been more informative, but ultimately the guy had to cut levels and there's no good way to tell anybody about it. All you can do is take this as a learning experience and say "screw you, I'm making my own collab with blackjack and hookers!"
