One big primary rule of reviews is that you should at least appreciate or be familiar with a genre before you go in trying to review something that falls under said genre. Otherwise it becomes a bitter commentary of the genre itself, which is entirely self-defeating and offers zero objective qualitative reasoning.
This review is really fucking confusing. RMN's ideal of "all opinions are golden and to be respected" is kind of naive, IMO.

While I personally didn't take the time to go quite into so much analysis about this game myself, I agree with this review completely. Nice review! Actually makes me like this game even more.

A difficulty setting might be in order... or perhaps make it like Gradius, and have a secret code you can enter during the level select screen to give the player 30 lives or something.

But to each their own, I suppose. It still doesn't excuse the classless dismissal of legitimate criticism on the author's part. He instead enlisted his buddies to come to RMN and write positive reviews, as if it would convince people otherwise.

It doesn't matter if he says he's going to fix things. The game still stinks, and didn't deserve a 4-star review. If I put a sign in front a bridge saying "This bridge is broken but I plan on fixing it sometime soon", no one is going to cross it, because it is objectively dangerous. If someone tells me "This game has tons of poorly written dialogue and game-breaking bugs", then is is an objectively poor game. No one likes those things, and if you say you do, then you clearly have some ulterior motive for thinking so.

The point is that Super_Stunner (or Stevie or whatever the fuck his name is) has received valid criticism from this community about his project. When he found out that the vast majority of people here did not like it, he freaked out and acted like he was some misunderstood artist, when in reality his game suffers from very basic design flaws and an abundant amount game-breaking bugs/glitches, not to mention the poor writing style.
Then, suddenly, this mass of brand new members appear and unleash a wave of unspecific praises towards the game. No one here is convinced. Many people on RMN have tried the game, and every single one of them do not think it is any good, myself included.
