NESFREAK64'S PROFILE

Hi, my name is Steve. I've been lurking here for quite a while. I've tried my hand at RPG making before, starting on the Playstation, and ending last with RPG Maker 2k3. Who knows, maybe I'll try again sometime?

rpgmaker.net needs your help (again)!

I am sure there are other sites that host indie game projects (Newgrounds comes to mind) but we appreciate the support all the same! The donation email hasn't changed - it's still paypal@rpgmaker.net

Thanks for your generosity!

Haha, yeah you're right about the indie game site thing, though I was mainly referring to RPG maker games, among others hosted here. Newgrounds is all Flash games and stuff, this is almost like a Deviantart (without the drama and stuff attached to it) for games from people from all walks of life. Either way, I hope this site is around for years to come! There's stuff here that'll keep anyone busy for an eternity.

And yeah, it's paypal@rpgmaker.net. I wanted to be sure though. Either way, thanks for being here!

Hey, I'm just curious (this thread hasn't been posted in in a while, but I thought I might ask...)

I've been donating $10 a month for...2 or 3 years now I think, Paypal says 2011 is when I started. Is the address the same still or should I resubscribe? Either way, I'd like to keep donating, this place is still one of my favorites, and the only one really still actively hosting indie game projects.

I've been doing $10 a month now...for the past year, I think?

I haven't even been coming on here much, but there's so much I've gotten from this site, never mind that it's one of the friendlier sites on the web.

I'll consider raising my donation...but I won't be able to until I'm done moving :(. But my $10 a month isn't going anywhere!

RMNv4 Feedback

Well, I think it looks pretty slick, especially on the front page.

Game pages, to be honest, I liked the tabbed look more from before better. It's not a BIG deal, but everything looks a bit squashed together. I also liked having the subscribe button be a bit larger and off to the side, rather then huddled with a bunch of others underneath the game's logo.

Personal preferences though. Everything looks quite a bit more streamlined, and like I said, the front page looks really slick. I also like how you kept all the functionality somewhat the same, without moving too much or renaming it.

Aside from my quibbles about the game pages, great work!

Hi! I've been here for a while, but just signed up, sooo...

I now feel bad because you donated some hard earned cash and I have done nothing...

...Thanks a lot, STEVE.

Just kiddin'! It's nice to know that you care about this place, and I'm glad you joined us! And please give RM another shot, again. I want to see what you can do after all this time off. Welcome to the show. THE FREAK SHOW! :D

Have fun!

That's the plan! Aside from some recent drama-y looking stuff, this place seems pretty chill too, something that seems lacking these days on the net.

As for making games, I am considering doing something short and sweet, instead of trying to pull off baby's first huge epic like I did in the past. Perhaps I'll give Super Mario X dev a shot too.

Your abandoned game ideas?

Edit: Hit confirm without meaning to!

You know what's kind of cool about these topics? Ideas you may think of lame, now, can still sound pretty cool to other people. I mean, wow, some of these ideas sound better then a lot of commercial games these days.

Anyways, here's some of mine:

Dragon Warrior Monster's Revenge

Took place after Dragon Warrior Monsters 2, basically all of the demon lords turned against their master, and Tara, or Cobi, had to quest to take the world back from the monsters. I started it on RPG Maker PSone....And it never really got off the ground.

Quest for Light

Yeah, that was a honestly serious title. Basically it was supposed to be a story with two kingdoms, one of light, one of dark. The Light Kingdom was heavily religous, and the Dark one was far more liberal. It was supposed to be one of these with no real set of who's good and who's bad...The names sucked though. I started it in RM2k3, restarted it in VX years later, and never went too far with it.

I've got others, but those were the two I did lots of real work for.

Hi! I've been here for a while, but just signed up, sooo...

So I just wanted to say hi. My name is Steve, and I've been lurking this site for quite a long time now, and since I've been getting, and playing games like crazy from here, I figured I should join up...and maybe review some stuff!

I also donated...I seriously wouldn't want to see this site go down :(, apparently it almost did one time! That, and I find this one to probably be the best portal for indie games! :)

Anyways, thank you for having me! I've done some developing on some half done RPG Maker games in the past, maybe I'll give it a shot again.
