Mission Based RPG

I am in the middle of making a mission based RPG Game. Basically rather than the traditional approach of exploration and quests etc you are living at the base and get some given set missions. Basically when you accept a mission you teleport to the beginning of the mission in whatever region its located in the fictional world and have to complete it. Once it's done, ending scenes etc of mission and you return to base. Back in the base you can rest, buy new Items, enter a training facility and take on new missions. Missions are your source of income. Some will be optional, some you have to do and some missions take longer than others depending on the complexity.

Quests will play a role in some specific missions as well. Some long missions may have a variety of quests the player can engage in within them before completing them, examples of such will be investigative missions which requires you to interact with towns people and etc. (Quests will mainly be optional within complex and long missions.)

I am curious what you guys think about this kind of idea. I am thinking of implementing it into Combat Specialists. As soon as you complete the first mission or introductory mission you go straight back to HQ like every other mission once it's completed. Each mission will try to be original with a range of characters to meet and have its own unique story but relates with the main plot in hand...

Also I would like to know what the community wants for missions available whether they are, preventing bombs in a time limit, solving mysteries, generally taking part in wars/battles and slaying fiends etc. I would like to know what missions you think would spice up the game so I can jot down some ideas down.

Project Viral 1.6

Hello fellow members of the RPG Maker Development Community. My name is Femi and some of you know me as the developer of Project Viral my only completed game. Some of you are developers, artists as such and some of you like to play amateur games on these sites and also review them. I'm glad to be part of this community and the fact that my works have received structured criticism and feedback brings me joy. I just wanted to say that I am revamping Project Viral which I know a few of you have possibly played. I'm going to add some new features and changes to the game for the better possibly doing some revamping as well depending on what I can do.

-I was thinking about voice actors?
-What do people think about taking part in voice acting for the game?
-If anyone would like to participate, the Final Release of Project Viral which will be 1.6 will have you in the credits as contributors to it's cause. If you feel like taking part then please contact me here or on www.rpgrevolution.com

There's also more improvements/changes I'm thinking of adding to the game. PM me if you would like to be part of the next and final release. Also post a message on this thread stating whether your male or female or your voice adepts. That way I can contact you as well and we can come to a consensus about your role in the next and final full release of Project Viral.

Thanks, any help would be appreciated. :)

Media

Just wandering how we put our YouTube videos on media section of the site. I've got them on my game page but for some reason it doesn't show on the Media section. Any ideas why this is occurring. Help would be appreciated, thanks.

Morbid Awakening

click here to download the game(90mb)
("Note: this game doesn't require rpg maker xp to play")
("This demo release offers around 2 hours of solid gameplay")

THE SETTING

The story of Morbid Awakening is set in a fantasy world of Treter. A planet filled
with many races such as humans, elves, wizards, fiends, druids and other critters
and beings. There are many continents in the world of Treter. The 3 most populated
are Nua, Casia and Shinda. You start of in Nua although there is not really a way of
telling where you are as this is a demo game lasting 1 and a half hours plus and you
don't get to use the world map either which should be usable and ready in the full
version.

(This game is based on a manga which I was going to write but I don't think my
drawing skills are good enough. Instead I decided to turn it into a game as most
of the illustrations I gathered matched my characters images.)

(Note: This is a demo version of the game. Only,

Chapter 1: Capture
Chapter 2: Escape

are playable in this demo. There are quite a few small cut scenes in this demo to.
Also a cut scene variation depending if you decided to go back for the Captain which
you will find out about during game play.)

PROLOGUE

When the Kilos Organisation rise up to power, they begin to use forbidden
magic or Alchemy and train Alchemist's to suck up the resources on the planet for
their own use. Unfortunately the Kilos Organisation are praised for sucking up the
minerals of the planet and use them to generate buildings for many countries.
This is starting to effect the world. Many lands that shined brightly have become
dark and gloomy filled with twisted creatures that never existed before. What no one
knows is that the Organisation isn't as great as people think it is. They are also
responsible for the destruction of many towns, villages and deaths of many citizens
which is unknown to the world. What are the Kilos Organisation really up to?

Play as the main protagonist of this story, Artemus Shadowbreaker, also known as
the Crimson Alchemist. Artemus becomes criminal in the lands of Shinda and Nua.
This occurs after leaving the Kilos organisation where he is made one without a choice.
He ends up in Nua after being followed by soldiers and is eventually captured by the Nua
army then put in the Natu Prison Station. Awoken by another criminal in the Station,
Artemus manages to get out of his cell where he learns that none of the soldiers are
on patrol. "What the heck is going on here?" says Artemus. With the advantage to now
escape, he must find a way out of Natu Station alive, along side with his two new friends,
Kenji and Husa...

(A game made by Oluwafemi Oluwasanmi.)

(Note: This game does not require rpg maker vx to play. I've fully made sure of that.)

Vigour of the Fellowship is a game based in the fantasy world of Ken, a world filled with many races such as humans, elves and demons. The game is focused on Jase, the main protagonist of this epic story who is troubled by strange dreams that makes him decide to go on a journey to find a true purpose to his life. He is accompanied by his best friend Tristen. Not long after setting of, they encounter Bella, who is a Captain of the Nua army. This is when they decide that they will become soldiers, but firstly they must see the King. On his path to destiny, Jase is troubled by strange dreams and it seems now he knows who is behind them. He meets many new characters and makes a few friends. He must face a few challenges on his way to meet the King, but what lies ahead of all of them is something dark and yet a mystery...

(Screen shot of part of the World Map.)

Characters

Jase
Class: Thief
Gender: Male
Race: Human

Jase is the main protagonist of the epic story. He is 17 years old, very rude and rebellious. When he was younger, a strange man who seemed to have surpassed humanity left him at the village of Tuskey. There he grew up strong with his closest friends Tristen and Kayla after being adopted by Woodcutter Moku. He used to spend his time stealing useful Items from Yama Docks until he sets off on his journey. His special abilities are stealing, and draining health and mana from his foes. Although Jase can be quite sneaky, harsh and unpredictable, he has a pure heart. Jase is your average laid back character, quite handsome and not afraid of most things. He is a useful ally with his extreme speed in the battlefield. His ideal weaponry would be swords and daggers. (Playable Character in the Demo)

Tristen
Class: Paladin
Gender: Male
Race: Human

Tristen is Jase's childhood and best friend. Also 17 years old and a bit of a goofy character, Tristen is also an adopted son of Moku. He likes to follow Jase around but didn't like to engage in his troublesome acts such as stealing and slacking off work. He spent his days working with Kayla and Moku south of Tuskey cutting wood, while Jase slacked off. His special abilities are Holy Judgement and Minor Healing abilities. Although Tristen isn't as fearless as Jase, he posses a threat in battle and can slay undead or demons without much difficulty with his holy powers. Tristen also has feelings for Kayla, but doesn't have the courage to tell her. His ideal weapon would be a mace. (Playable Character in the Demo)

Kayla
Class: Hunter
Gender: Female
Race: Human

Kayla, another childhood friend of Jase and also his ex-girlfriend in the past. Kayla is also 17 years old. She's got a huge temper and tends to argue with Tristen a lot. Kayla was also adopted by Moku but bears a small blood relation to him. She spent her days working hard with Moku cutting down trees and selling Lumber. Kayla would rather live a peaceful life than an exciting one. She's very well behaved and has some feelings for both Tristen and Jase. Her hobbies are hunting and cooking. Although she doesn't like fighting because she sees it as dangerous, she's fantastic with a bow and can pose a threat to airborne enemies. (Not a playable Character in the Demo)

Bella
Class: Warrior
Gender: Female
Race: Human

Bella, a soldier and a Captain in the Nua army. Bella is only 18 years old and has already got the Captain rank, which seems impossible seeing as soldiers are only allowed to join the Nua Army at 18 but she joined at the age of 16 years. Bella, told by the King seems to have the highest potential in the Nua army. She is a warrior who is admired by many soldiers. Quite beautiful and very good looking, Bella can charm her way through certain situations. She relies more on her strength and heavy defence to take on her foes. Bella has only been defeated once in a battle and that is by Agon. She can use most one handed weaponry like swords and axes. (Playable Character in the Demo)

Agon

Class: Lancer
Gender: Female
Race: Human

Agon is apparently the strongest woman in Nua and one of the mighty Commander's of the Nua army. Her nickname is Roaring Agon because of her fierce strength and supreme battle shouts whilst in combat. Hearing her load roars send chills to many of her foes. Agon is a lancer who relies on long pole arms like spears and lances. She does supreme physical damage against her enemies and is apparently unbeatable, accordingly to her battle record. Agon meets Jase on the Brooklyn Express while they face off the dangerous sea creature known as the Kraken. (Playable Character in the Demo)

(Screenshot of the Sideview Active Battlesystem.)

(This game should last 1hours 45mins to be exact but could last longer depending on the skill level of the player. Some parts might be quite challenging. The most challeging parts of the game will probably be on Jase's dreams. There are two chapter's playable in this demo. The first one is called, An adventure awaits followed by the second chapter, The Brooklyn Express. As well as two chapters, this game has two challenging bosses.)

(Screen shot during Jase's second Dream)

("I've put quite a lot off effort developing this game which involved rounding up resources from popular games. Finding the scripts I needed and creating and modifying a few resources as well as fully designing the maps and events. At the end of the demo, it should show the credits of all the scripters of the scripts I used and the people who gave me inspiration. I apologise if some of the scripters haven't been listed in this demo but I will make sure when the full version is complete, that I will revise this.")

So please download my game and post some reviews on it. I would like to know what you liked/disliked about it plus any related questions. Also please don't post messages not relating to my project and thanks. When I've sorted myself out, I'll be working on a full version.

Thanks and Enjoy!

APOLOGIES TO HARMONIC AND MY RAGING VIGOUR

APOLOGIES TO HARMONIC AND MY RAGING VIGOUR

Ok, I'm the one who made the game Vigour of the Fellowship to test my rpg maker skills mainly and would have made a full game of it if I continued, but after being critisized by all you twats I decided to go to rmvx and start a new game with a different story. I worked hard on that game trying to get the music to fit the scenes and used music from many games such as resident evil, final fantasy and a few other popular games. A mate of mine also gave me some music files on his memory stick after downloading a few games from this site. I've downloaded a few games too like Beloved Rapture which I thought was overfantastical, I just liked the scenes and the plot mainly as it really confused me.

Like I said to all you assholes no offence, I didn't intend to steal harmonic's music files as I thought they were like music files off a final fantasy game or sommat. So many people use music of popular games and the music seemed so professional that I didn't know.

1. Where the fuck did it say don't use my music files on the actualy music files.
2. How the fuck was I meant to know that those files were made by a person who didn't want anyone using unless I did research to make sure. (maybe I shoulda done but I've been in a bit of a rush because I want to make a game quickly with good reviews so I can have it on this site by summer fully released.)
3. I'm actually 18 years old barely so I'm not 10 you retarded idiot whoever was dissing me.
4. A lot of you people on this site are so frikin lame.
5. By the time I realised that harmonic was owned by someone who didn't want music being used, I quickly messaged her asking her if they were her files.
6. No ones gonna play my demo game and give me a real feedback for what I need to change because of this stupid happening that coulda been solved quickly.
7. Did I even get the fucking chance to change the music files to sommat else! >:(
8. I'm mainly on this forum for my game and to receive feedback so I hardly know anyone here. How am I meant to know that Harmonics files were harmonics >:(
9. All those of you who don't care about using music from games, I'm not against you although I didn't intend to use the flipping files if I knew I would get all these comments from everyone when I didn't know I wasn't allowed to use them in first place.
10. Delete the game cause I've already started a new one.
11. I've got a message from harmonic saying please don't use please (Why you saying please when you've already commented a thousand times saying I'll hunt down and how it is wrong to steal! I know its wrong fuk sake man...)
12. The community on rmn isn't very good, they aint encouraging and always got something bad to say.
13. Next time I'll check seeing as I kind of rushed the game ffs, everyone makes a mistake once in a while and don't tell me none of you haven't done something bad accidentally before because you aint GOD!
14. By time I checked rmn again, I noticed I received so many critisims without having a chance to change music or whatever.
15. I did contact Harmonic or whoever she called becuase I wanted to know if she was creator of music so I could delete it. She didn't support me on that did she. All she fucking did was complain and said nothing about me actually asking her if the files belonged to her. Fucking hell man, at end of day I said I didn't fukin know that they was yours the last fukin time.
16. Do you really think I'm going to post a fucking game on this site if I know I stole music from someone who is one this site. Wtf was that about ffs. If I was gonna steal em which I'm not, why the fuk would I post the game on this site. Noone is that fucking stupid even if they are 10.
17. Sorry about all the language but after reading all those comments for a good 30 mins or so, I just realised how lame the community on thise forum is.
18. Instead of finding a way to solve the problem, everyone here just complains and rants on like little kids even bringing subjects which aint even godamn related to using harmonics music files in tthe first place.
19. I've had the game removed from RRR too...
20. I hope none of you are gonna cry again like little kids, too many people here were acting very imaturely towards this "big incident" which could have been resolved easily and quickly.
21. I believe there is nothinh wrong with using music from games popular games like ff10 which is well known so people will know you stole it if you were just making your game as a hobby and not to make money. I know so many other people will agree, as they rip graphics and take music from games like that.
22.Lastly, I am sorry for taking harmonics music and using them. I thought they went well with my opening scene and I thought her music was great too.
23. Harmonic should consider renaming them harmonic(dont use them or watever) although it was my faulty for not fully checking.
24. All you guys on this forum who insulted me are assholes who've got nothing better to say. I mean is that really mature or even related to the fact that harmonics files were stolen? NOOO so stfu then!
25. Finally, I will say this for some of you who don't understand long text. ("It was a mistake which I apologised for and would have changed music If I got chance. Just delete the game already....jeeeez
26. Lastly, this issue could have been resolved better and I am dissapointed with many of the people on this forum!

CHARACTER CARDS

Every character has a character card giving you a brief description of thier role in the story, what their personality is like and thier age, class, gender, and an image of them. Every time a new character joins the party, a character card will be added. I'm hoping to have up to 9/10 playable characters in this game eventually.

(This game is relatively easy for beginners. There are two bosses to face which aren't to difficult either, especially if you use your overdrives well.)

The demo game's the current features:

Comic like dialogue
A sideview battlesystem
Item steal
Fantastic Mog Menu's
2 hours of solid gameplay
Overdrives
Dramatic Music
Environmentally friendly
2 Bosses
Great Scenes
Well made maps
Character Cards
Quick Tutorials
3 playable characters
2 playable chapters

The future fullversion features:

Comic like dialogue
A sideview battlesystem
Item steal
Fantastic Mog Menu's
12 hours or plus of solid gameplay
Overdrives
Dramatic Music
Environmentally friendly
15+ Bosses
Great Scenes
Well made maps

Quick Tutorials
A world map
Tons of Items
Tons of Equipment
Great shopping system
Party Changing
Up to 9 playable characters
Optonal Areas/Bosses
(Fixed Bugs)
10 plus chapters
Fishing
Mining Crystals

CURRENT BUGS

Kenji's Overdrive= Assistance, which can be repeated time and again as it doesn't reduce the overdrive back to nil. (Will not crash the game though)

Scene End Menu, a Mog Script showing information about the amount of times you've saved progress, battled enemies, loaded the game, defeated amount of enemies and so on. Two of the lines don't ever go up and stay at zero. I think one of them is number of enemies killed(Will not crash the game though)

Overdrive Bar in General sometimes. I've tested the overdrive bar with many custom made skills. It seems to reduce other characters bar's to nil if you use a skill that attacks all enemies or heals all enemies. Also some skills don't seem to reduce the bar back to nil again. (Will not crash the game though)

Hopefully I can resolve this. Some of the scripts still need to be
updated. By the time the full version is ready, I'm sure the creators
of the scripts I use would have updated them hopefully. I've given
full credit to all the scripts I've used for this game and to Ruruga
for his fantastic resources.

Story of the Year: Legacy of the Spawning

Hello everyone. I'm making a game so I would like people to check out my project on the latest games page. It's going to be great when it's finished. So far I've got a 3 hours gameplay game. It's got quite a few scenes to. Thiers a world map in it and tons of Items already. Also for all you rmxp fans who detest the default front view system. This game has a nice and neat sideview battlesystem. The game will also focus a lot about the plot as well as it's gameplay features. It will have extra's for those gameplay freaks who love extra bosses and monsters to face and area's to explore. Please check my game out on this site. I won't be releasing it till it's complete but I've put up some screenshots for those who want a quick glimpse. Here's the weblink http://www.rpgmaker.net/games/892/
