Fear & Hunger 2: Termina Review

Thank you so much for the review! Nice to see people on rpgmaker.net try out the game! And glad you liked the game too!

Fear and Hunger Review

No need to remove the review. I'm sure most of the things still hold up in it. The game didn't exactly do a complete U-turn with the later updates.

Of course everyone is entitled to the way they perceive the game and its scenes, but personally I don't see how the 'show love' command in the game could be viewed as a rape. Each character you are able to 'show love' with gives a clear consent, or they just flat out refuse to do anything with the player. I don't think the lack of romance == rape. And just to make it clear to anyone reading these comments - You cannot 'show love' to children characters.

Glad to hear that several hours I spent on writing this did not go to waste!

Now that I think about it, I still have a couple of questions that didn't really fit into the review:

What, if anything, does Dirt do?

How exactly does conversing with the Girl affect her? I noticed that overdoing the praise turned "gives you a faint smile" back into "seems to give you a faint smile", so I did not try it too much since.

On the same topic; which of the conversation options with Moonless are good ones (if any)? I thought "Good boy!" was suspicious since it's clearly a girl, and I didn't dare to try "Give me a paw!", or the other option.
Oh sorry it took me a while to reply. It's been really busy lately D:

Talking to the girl and giving her things does make relationship with her better. I can't remember any specific things that would make the relationship worse per se. But honestly I don't remember every detail in the game anymore :D

Only thing that matters with Moonless, is if you give her rotten meat and if you let her mark her terriotory.

Oh and NTC3, thanks to your review, I already tweaked the game a bit accordingly. I especially agree with the dialogue with the new gods :D That's now changed to keep more mystery.

Thanks a lot for this awesome review! It was really interesting read and sounds like you really went indepth with the game and it's mechanics. I really appreciate this!

I think all of your criticism is pretty spot on. Many of the issues were supposed to be ironed out with future releases, but some are fresh angles that I need think through again.

Again, thanks for the review. Stuff like this really keeps me motivated.

Haha, I'm glad the intro was addressed. The girl I have no idea how I'd handle, though. I hear this game is a thesis of some sort? I'm interested how it's presented in an academic setting.

The girl thingy just doesn't end to a sudden game over now. It just says she is not willing.... <_< ... >_>"

The game was only a part of my thesis work, practical part to be more precise. (the thesis is divided between practical and theoretical works) I study graphic design - so I was looking into horror aesthetics and thematics, especially in video games. I threw in few dead baby jokes and pictures of the rape scene and called it a day.

nah, I'm actually pretty proud with all the theory I was able to come up with and learn from different books, etc. It's done now and I got fairly good feedback from it. I haven't gotten the grades yet for it though.

Thank you for the review! Really appreciate it! I can totally understand the criticism here and many of the things mentioned here will be addressed. Few are already tweaked in the latest version of the teaser demo (like skippable intro, run command and making love with the girl for example)
