i can't wait for 2018
Why? Is that the year that Donald Trump finally bites the dust?
I don’t know that much about John Hurt, but it still sucks to know that Mary Tyler Moore is gone. Hopefully we won’t lose any more people of value for at least a while now. I mean, come on Jesus, at least give us a few months, or something.
Is it bad that I have no idea who these people were? It's not that I don't understand that people are sad about this news. But honestly, I'd say it's pretty much always sad when people die, no matter whether they're celebrities or not. And that's not going to change because we now write a 17 instead of a 16 at the end of the current date.

Oh yeah, I didn’t mean it by anything like that; everybody is of equal value, regardless of who they are.

just making fun of people who blamed the concept of 2016 for all the celeb deaths

If you've ever seen The Elephant Man, 1984, the Harry Potter films, Alien, V for Vendetta, Spaceballs, Frankenstein Unbound, Hellboy, I, Claudius, or Watership Down, you know who John Hurt is.
As for Mary Tyler Moore, maybe the kids have never heard of her, but she may well be the most important figure in the history of television. Look her up. It may seem like cheap comedy today, but back in the 60s and 70s, it pushed the limits of free speech, and opened the door for women in what was a largely male dominated business.
Everybody is a person of value, regardless of how famous they are.
This is true, but it's not our way to mourn those we have never met or heard of.
Mary Tyler Moore was one of the most beautiful and funniest women ever. Watching the Dick Van Dyke show right now.
And John Hurt, you were a badass. Everyone watch Snowpiecer for extra awesome
