I vacillate about them... I think a lot of them go over my head. They seem like blowhards at first sight, when I just wanna shoot the breeze.
LockeZ
I'd really like to get rid of LockeZ. His play style is way too unpredictable. He's always like this too. If he ran a country, he'd just kill and imprison people at random until crime stopped.

Oh, blow me.
Sooz
They told me I was mad when I said I was going to create a spidertable. Who’s laughing now!!!

Air.
They're beautiful and they're often ruining the countryside. There exceptions like lower germany. They look good there. Please don't put em on hills.

i hate them, they kill wildlife and disrupt predators
they also aren't even always used for the district or state they're in. we have a bunch in maine that just channel energy down to ivy league schools so they can say they're green (while tearing up our forests and hillsides and killing our animals)

I've only seen them in West Texas, which is flat and featureless, so I've got positive feelings towards them. I didn't know they were being forced into unsuitable locations like that; interesting.
THere are great places for solar panels and wind turbines... maybe. THey will always have a negative overall impact on animals.
I was wondering if serious answers would pop up.
Wind turbines in their current state are useless. They're built strictly for political reasons, usually centering on left cover or the pretentiousness of being "green". Every single wind turbine standing today is a towering hunk of garbagethat has a net-negative input:output ratio. Especially the ones in climates that experience sub-freezing temperatures. They can't even produce enough electricity to de-ice their own blades.
That's not to say they won't always be worthless though. Solar technology was impractical up to a few years ago, and now it's finding solid use in industry and even around the household.
I also say that solar contributes to global warming. I hope I'm wrong.

I'd be interested in seeing some sources about wildlife impact, Craze. Are you talking about birds and bats, Craze? I didn't look particularly hard, but I was seeing something like 480k bird deaths a year by current wind turbines in the larger estimates, which seems like it's less than bird deaths from coal by quite a bit. Chart:
https://thinkprogress.org/chart-how-many-birds-are-killed-by-wind-solar-oil-and-coal-230d2a939bbb/
That's also over three orders of magnitude less than windows.
I'm not a particularly vocal proponent of wind turbines, but I've had a positive understanding of them, so if you're talking about some other wildlife or the statistics I've been looking at are bunk, let me know.
@Dyhalto: Do you have a source about the net negative input-output ratio? Again, I didn't look super hard, but I didn't see anything about that.

Same. I am not seeing anything like that.
I did find some reports of infrasound pollution, but that was found to be a nocebo response ("the nocebo response, whereby health concerns and negative expectations, created from social discourse and media reports, trigger symptom reporting.") Basically, "I learned that wind turbines can cause headaches because of infrasound, and now I'm getting headaches!".

I'm rescinding that comment. I've been running around with that misconception for so long that I believed it at face value. Sorry. It's my fault for not fact checking.
I'm still strongly anti-wind though. Fourth generation pebble bed nuclear reactors are the most practical option in 2017, and cold fusion is appearing in enough articles that it may be closer than we think.
@Dyahalto: Okay, cool. I think that diversifying the power grid is probably the best option, and I don't have too many issues with nuclear beyond waste management. Personally, I think solar's my favorite option, unless there are some drawbacks people want to make me aware of.
