To be quite frank, I DID take making a game that people can enjoy seriously, if I took nothing else seriously. It's just that I got intimidated by this community, and people jumping so quickly on my mistakes in my screenshots. I was bored, found myself addicted to RPG Maker, and wanted to make a game that my friends could enjoy and think was funny. I wanted a place where I could share it.

I will admit: I don't know HOW to change the title screen, I don't know WHAT map pieces go on what kind of maps. I'm pretty terrible at computers in general, so I thought it was a feat in itself that I could actually figure out the software. And most importantly, I just wanted to have fun.

That's why I got so defensive. Maybe I secretly want to make a good game, but just have no idea how to do it, and so this is what came out. I take fiction writing very seriously, I take my music very seriously, but I found myself foundering in this, but I saw it as a creative opportunity, so I decided to jump on it.

I'm sorry for those I got defensive with, NOW I'm swallowing my pride and being honest.

There's absolutely nothing wrong with this. We were all there at one point or another... Hang around long enough and you'll be up to speed in no time.

Let me be more clear:

This game is a satire to anyone that believes that people should put effort into games that are not serious.

I... I'm hurting, man.

Revision time!

I highly doubt anyone enjoys grinding the VX DBS.

My game will be out Tomorrow!

Three weeks is impressive for any game.

Stream of consciousness: Difficulty is difficult

I took a peek at calunio's article, and, suffice it to say, he had trouble with the game's difficulty. This just makes me downhearted, as I must assume he got the "fixed" version that is linked to the "main download" which is also linked to the event.

To me, it's not that hard. That statement can be taken with a grain of salt, however, as I know how this game is supposed to be approached. Maybe, if I had someone other than me playtest this thing, I could have avoided making this blog altogether!

You know, it might not be a bad idea to just ask for one or two beta testers before your release. It looks like there are more than a few people following most of your projects that I'm sure would be glad to help.

I started up the game, it teleported to a town after the short "map screen" intro, and then glitched out to a scene atop a snowy mountain. 4 characters were speaking to another character. I don't know what the fuck happened, so I just shut down the game.

This seems to happen to about 20-30% of people. We're looking into it, but for now, it pretty much always resolves itself if you keep playing.

An apology and some other stuff.

I did play that, there are 4 of them right ?

I was stuck a bit on this at first. Go back to the institute and make sure you have the proper sharp markings for all the notes. I believe there are 2.

Please report bugs!

As a note, we're fully aware about the glitch encountered towards the beginning of the game in Lanrynne. Though you receive the Tourist Pass, it is never added to your inventory. This does not affect game progression and you should be able to make your way to the haunted gardens regardless.

No demo for a while.

HAve you tried a file recovery tool, undelete, or previous System Restore checkpoint? You might be able to get some of your lost work back.

The issue was with RM2K and RM2K3 using the same temp file information. It's been a while since I've used 2K3 so I forgot the issues that arise with having an instance of both open. I'll be more cautious in the future.

Though really, I'm not too sorry about the lost work. I was working on a delayed skill effect system that really wasn't up to par and this is an opportunity to redo it.

Hasty update planned

I'll be looking forward to it...!
