Super RMN Bros. 3 Review

First:I laughed a bit seeing this. And the fact that my computer was fried accidently after making the first video of my Let's Play, I guess I'm glad it happened! I was barely good at World 1! Let alone if I tried to continue the game, and on camstudio? Fuck that! I still feel like playing it though, to get my own opinion. I agree with you to a point on "Stop the clock" and "Partners in Prime", because they were annoying, hell, I never even finished "Partners in Prime", but that annoyingness actually fixed itself with originality, 'I haven't seen this before', and how interesting the ideas were...though the stages using them were complete shit to me.
I also didn't like the idea of stars and secret stars. I never knew there were secret stars! WTF! I've been thinking of making a 2D remake of Mario 64, or at least something like that. And how it would work is: there's a hub world, and a map world. The hub world is where you can choose your stages, the map world is where you chose your stars to complete. No secret stars beside on the hub world, and even then, I would make it so that it wouldn't take too many stars to continue to the next map. Like, that's how they should of gone about this!

Still, in my Mario game I'm doing right now, I think BlobOfGoo(when he was on my team) and I already broke that #1 rule, don't waste the players time. So what say do I have on that matter? I think quite a few people have made that mistake before, so it doesn't matter until you are experienced enough to know what to do. By the way, what did you mean by breaks in the game? As in, thinking about the right times to give breaks and challenges when developing the game.

I didn't know you made a nugget crash course version.
One would only really know about the "Nugget Crash Curse" version if one was involved in that event, was a judge of said event, or clicked on the downloads tab. No real loss on your part, since, as you say, I've been working on it since then. To the betterment of the game, I would hope!

O.k.

Half the reason I chose to make Ruri's normal walk speed "2X faster" was to relay the sense of boundless energy she has. Like, she's on some kind of constant sugar high. Also, running up and down Iwayama's hallway at warp speed is... strangely fun. Maybe that's just me? I'm not sure if that speed is going to stick around, though. It depends on the mapping. My tendency has been to make small-ish maps with the idea that I don't have to work in as much detail. If I keep making maps like the hallway of Iwayama High, this game might turn out deviating from that tendency bit. However, I can't really say with any amount of certainty at this time.

The only other thing I wish to note at this time is the music. I know the "Nugget Crash Curse" version had nothing but RTP with the music category. I doubt you got that version, considering what I'm seeing with "Story". So, look to the Audio/BGM directory. If I included any outside material, the file names would indicate the source and title of the pieces. I might be guessing with some of the titles, however.

Yeah, I admit going really fast is fun. And I didn't know you made a nugget crash course version. But I shouldn't go backwards, you've already worked on this game further, and anything I would've had to say there may of already been done, and don't worry, I'll look in the audio/bgm source...later.

Ah, I said stuff about Ice Tanks.
You did?

Edit: Now I see it! Yeah, I had trouble with that too. Man that was annoying, you realized you could finish the level without it you know, right? Apparently you did.

Edit 2:I fixed a few of his levels because my new partner had a problem with his stages. Now, don't be to harsh on Ice Tanks now when I make the new demo later on including all the Season worlds but no special or final world, because I made it so you need the Tank, but the problem is...you HAVE to be perfect. If the platform falls, or you miss the key, you will have no choice but to kill yourself. Sorry :( I'll try and fix that.

I went really harsh on you guys, but that's because I want to see you guys kick some ass and make a good game :D

I noticed something about me and reviews. I'll give examples and I'll let yo tell me what I've noticed.

Fire Woman:
Game sucked to the people.
I was rushed when making it(or at least I felt rushed).
I gave everyone a middle finger after I read the review.

Super Mario Seasons demo:
You felt it needs work, but still kinda good(at least that's what I got from it).
I wasn't rushed and I had someone to help me.
I love this review and will try and fix the problems.

I noticed a few errors here though.

In certain stages, there aren't secret stars, and what you called a Kaizo trap, is what I called a normal challenge in fan games. I also laughed at you about that part, sorry.

Still, I will fix these...once I find out why BlobOfGoo isn't PMing me back. And to think that the first spring stage I tried to make would only have spin jumping on spinning blades.

I was having a bit of fun, and to me, it's kind of hard to make good SMBX levels without these gimmicks, in the ACTUAL first spring stage, I put a dick move in it that makes you die at the end, unless you make a guess that at the very beginning there is an invisible green block you need to press.Second one makes you use the green switch a lot, the castle has a difficulty through the roof, plus a outdoor indoor thing for the castle, and finally the one I'm making now barely has any gimmicks that I know of, but a lot of FUCK YOU moments.

Yeah, never mind figuring out why BoG isn't pming me, I will fix them now!

I also noticed that you said nothing of BoG's stages, why is that(his stages are Ice Tanks, Ice Cutters, Cold Plants, and Spicy Ice)?

I saw the review for Sister's Storybook and was thus wondering if my game was next. I hope that Weird Dreams is not as hard as the LT makes it look, as I've specifically attempted to tone down the difficulty of that game since then. However, this conversation is best served elsewhere.

The hardest part in your game, is trying to get the game to run on my computer, which game maker are you using?!?
