Vanilla Townie.
Welcome, player, you are a Vanilla Townie.

Abilities:
  • Your weapon is your vote, you have no night actions.
Win condition:
  • You win when all threats to the town have been eliminated and there is at least one town player alive.

There are 3 factions:
? Townies
? Independents
4 Mafia

The sun rises.
"Did you think we had forgotten? Did you think we had forgiven?" Read the bloody note placed upon the head of the poor Dudesoft.
The villagers of Holham gathered only to find one of their own hanged in the public square.
"This is the hour of the Mafia", the note finished grimly.

Dudesoft, who was Town Innocent Child, has been killed Night 0!

Day 1 has started. It will end Monday at 11:59PM GMT-4 (three full days from now) or when the hammer vote is placed.
With 15 alive it takes 8 to lynch.

You know the Drill. Go forth, and good luck everyone!

RMN's Fantasy Vanilla Mafia (Sign-Ups)

Welcome to Fantasy Vanilla Mafia!

I'm a little busy with work stuff, but due to popular demand...
Here's the topic for the upcoming mafia game that I will be hosting.

What is Mafia?

author=Wikipedia
Mafia is a party game modelling a battle between an informed minority and an uninformed majority. Players are secretly assigned roles: either "mafia", who know each other; or "townspeople", who know only the number of mafia amongst them. In the game's "night" phase the mafia covertly 'murder' a townsperson. During the day phase, all of the surviving players debate the identities of the mafia and vote to eliminate a suspect. Play continues until all of the mafia have been eliminated, or until the mafia outnumber the townspeople.

How to Play:

The Roles:

Before the game begins, each player is sent a PM assigning him or her a role. The contents of the PM cannot be shared with other players. All roles are assigned randomly. There are three basic types of roles that you can get: Town, Mafia, and Independent.

Town
If you are part of the town, then your objective is to stay alive and try to find out who the scum are. Since you cannot communicate with other players outside of this thread, you must work together and weed out who is lying and who is not.

Mafia
The mafia, on the other hand, have a significant advantage over the town. They can communicate with other mafia members outside the thread in any way they please. During the night, they tell the the host(in this case me) which townie they want to kill, and which member of the mafia team will carry out the kill. If all goes according to their plan (which it might not), then that townie will be dead --thus cannot post or vote-- for the rest of the game.

Independents
The goal of an independent role is to simply stay alive until the end of the game. Though some independent roles have other win conditions. They have no set alliance, and can side with either the town or the mafia. An independent usually must be alive at the game's conclusion to win, unlike town or mafia members.

If all mafia members are killed, then The Town Wins!
If enough villagers are killed that they can't lynch the witches, then The Mafia Wins!

Game Structure:

The game starts out in something called a day phase. In this phase, all players who are not dead may participate in discussion as well as vote for who gets lynched(note that you can also vote for no one getting lynched). The day phase will continue until a set deadline has passed or when deciding vote is reached.

Once the day phase is finished, the night phase begins. No one may talk in the thread during this phase, meaning that only players with night actions play a significant role. Night actions are abilities possessed by special roles that can be used to alter the game during the night phase. All night actions, including the mafia's kill, will be sent to me via PM(unless otherwise stated). Once the night phase deadline is reached or when all actions are sent in, I will PM everyone involved with their results and then a new day phase will begin. If anyone dies, then that person will be revealed.

Rinse and repeat until the game is over...

The Rules:

1. VOTING: Voting should look like this:

#Lynch Zeuzio or #NoLynch
And if you wish to change your vote, first cancel your first vote like this:
#Cancel
And yes, you need the bold.

Hammer rules apply this game, meaning that once a majority vote is reached that person is lynched and the day phase ends.

2. PARTICIPATE: It's not too fun when half of the players are always missing in action and only have a few posts. Try to post a few times during each day phase and contribute to the discussion in some way. This is also very important for the town's survival. If you don't participate, you are at high risk of being modkilled or replaced.

3. DON'T CHEAT: Although it'd be difficult for me to find out, just don't do it anyway. You'd be ruining the fun of the game. And if I DO find out...

4. IF YOU ARE DEAD, STAY DEAD: This game does not involve zombies. If you die, then don't post anymore. You can still cheer on your team/partner from the sidelines, though. I might make a separate thread for the actual game once it starts, making this thread a sort of "dead lounge" where dead players can chat(without revealing anything!).

5. NO EDIT RULE: Important! No edits. None at all. I don't care if it's typos. I'm bad like that.

We're set up folks. I'm looking forward to a great game.

Flavor and Introduction:

It is the time of knights and blacksmiths, of fighters and gunsmiths.
A time of inquisitors and priests, princes and kings and queens.
Some even say it's also a time of magic.
But it's also a time of peril and strife.

Deep within the forests of Whitecroft, the hamlet of Holham, standing at the base of Mount Grey, is suffering from rockslides and floods. Roads are now untraversable and the supplies are getting scarcer by the day. A mysterious faction of bandits from Holham, believed to have disbanded long ago, has resurfaced, and they are reveling in the despair of the hamlet's inhabitants.
They call themselves, "The Mafia".

King Eonas of the capital was expected to help, but time passes... and no one comes.

It is up to the few "Townies of Holham" who still live, to stand up and save their homes.
Will they be able to root the mafia out, and survive until help finally arrives... or will the royal caravans find nothing but a ghost hamlet, dominated by bandits?

(Note: Although this game has a medieval theme, the names of the roles will be the default ones)

Need a ruined caravan sprite [RMXP]

Hi all!
I am not talented enough to succesfully attempt this modification myself!
Would somebody be so kind as to make a ruined caravan sprite (without the horses), in the style of the RTP, for me (or direct me to one already done)?

This is the one I mean, for reference):
Wagon-01

I did a cursory search but could not find anything, sorry if it already exists.
Any of the four directions would be appreciated, I leave that to the discretion of the possible volunteer(s). I don't need it in all four directions.

EDIT: Thank you very much in advance.

Encounters Mechanics

I've been thinking about the mechanics of initiating enemy encounters for my game!
Now would be a good point to decide on changing them IF I change them.

So, what are some of the best alternatives to enemy mook encounters?
I know 2 at the moment:
1- random encounters: you just walk around and out of the blue POOF battle screen.
A big no no, obviously.

2- touch encounters: you see the monsters on the map and the battle starts when you touch them or they touch you. Obviously this raises questions: Should they move around randomly? Should they be hard or easy to avoid? Should they chase you? Should they chase you only a short distance? If you escape, what happens?

I have some semblance of number2 right now in my game.

I would welcome your opinions/experiences/suggestions!

Tactics Ogre

Anyone knew about this? :)

I loved that game! I think it's a cool choice for remaking!
Sorry if this is somewhere else, I did a quick search but found nothing.

(RMXP) Help with Custom States - (Script needed?)

Hello! I've been wondering how to make a custom state that increases stats but by a FINITE, CONCRETE amount instead of increasing them by percentages. (So, instead of 150% PDEF, the state can have a increase of +4 PDEF, and stuff like that.)

I'm using RPG Maker XP, BTW.

So... I would apprecciate if someone could point me in the right direction!
I have been searching in google but without much success...
Thanks in advance!

Hello everybody!

Hi everybody. I'm rabitZ.
I'm just waiting for the World Cup to begin and I'm making time =P.

Been checking the site for months now so I finally decided to register =)
I'm 23 and I'm from Paraguay (in South America hehe).
I study Electronic Engineering.

I first discovered RPG Maker years ago with the 2000 version, but when I started my college studies I kinda lost the time to play with my computer. =)
But I'm finishing now, so I have more free time.

Recently I downloaded RPG Maker XP and began getting hyped again about making games.
I started a game a few days ago... So I thought maybe I'll be posting here to show you my progress and get help and feebacks from you guys! =D

With luck... It'll be fun!!
