RALPHTHEFIFTH'S PROFILE

LEARSON - Chapter One
This is my first completed RPG Maker game. It is loosely based on a story/stories that I have been playing around with in my head for years.

I hate it when that happens.

Cry Wolf

I am somewhat confused.

LEARSON - Chapter One

Just a heads up, there's another jump on that map which is pretty awkward. You can see it in the picture I posted, it's on the left wall.

I'm planning on adding the glowy circle thing for jumps in the next iteration of this Chapter so that they are impossible to miss. I probably won't be releasing that until Chapter 2 comes out though.

LEARSON - Chapter One

You should be able to jump down in the bottom left corner.

If you can't then I'm not sure what's causing that.

LEARSON - Chapter One

Are you talking about this area?

I'm liking this so far, but one thing I'd like to mention, and I don't know if it's intentional. Do you mean for there to be no items to cure poison? All the antidotes you can buy are for paralysis and not poison. So you have to go all the way back to a save point to get the poison cured if you want to have it cured.

The other main question is whether you intended for the first merchant you meet as Ralph to sell you potions that give you 500 HP, versus all the other merchants selling potions that give you 100.

The first part was intentional. I thought the save points were spread liberally enough.

The potion thing however, was not intentional. Thanks for telling me.

Cry Wolf

Well this looks a tad bit different.

btw there is a save point early on
from the main hall take northeast door keep going down the hall and out the north door and save with the harp

I was talking about right at the start, while still in her house.

I really sucked at that bit.

Promise

I've only played this game for about 20 minutes (so far) and while I did enjoy what I played, I do have quite a few issues with the game (a lot of which are nitpicks to be fair).

I really don't like how the character moves. She seems to sway from left to right, I'm guessing this was intentional but I really didn't like how it looked or felt.

There were also a few annoying passibilty issues that I encountered. Near the start I kept dying (granted I have quite slow reactions) but one of these cases was because I tried to walk between the couches which was impossible, even though there was a clear gap between them.
I'm a bit embarrassed to admit it but I had to play through the intro about six times to get past this. A save point early on would have been helpful and if there is one I couldn't find it.

There were also cracks liberally spread out on the floor and I couldn't walk over them (which is understandable) but it led to common occurrences like this

where I couldn't move down from that position when it looks like I should be able to.

Also after leaving the boat I found the fog to be incredibly pixelated (is that a word?), I personally found it to be very off putting (and not in an intended horrified way)

I stopped playing when I
touched the lifelike doll and instantly died. I was warned it was lifelike but I didn't think it would instantly kill me. Touching the creepy dolls had no negative side effects (I think) except for a creepy sound

I do plan on completing the game, though that bit just really stressed me out.

I did really like the sound effects so far, they were suitably creepy. I did find the first piano piece a bit grating although I think that may have been the point.

I also really liked the artwork although when I first went into the piano room it popped up for like a split second, I'm not sure if that was intentional since it comes back properly when you speak to the girl.

Unity Plays Your Game!

I'd be very grateful if you could give me some feedback on my game.

There a quite a few issues with it that I have been notified of and I plan on addressing them in another update (at some point).
Any feedback you could give me would be very helpful and I hope you enjoy it.
