SBESTER'S PROFILE

I've been an active member for quite a few years now. I started my RMN career by releasing the Eden Legacy Trilogy of games (each entry took 4 months of nonstop work) within one year, and I've gradually shifted to creating other games as well. I now have 3 flagship series: Eden Legacy, Fragile Hearts, and Mafiosi (being remade for commercial release as Crime Opera). I'm pretty much solely focused on the Crime Opera series of visual novels right now, as my band and job currently take up most of my free time.

Currently working on
-Crime Opera Trilogy (Mafiosi 1, 2, & 3 edited, with all original resources)
-It's a secret...
Crime Opera II: The Floo...
The kids have grown up, and they're becoming quite dangerous.

Eden Legacy: A Knight of Eden

Aha! So the music might still work after all! It needs to be opened through the engine.

I'll keep the navigational problems in mind for the next release. Maybe some kind of quest log would help, although I've never attempted one before. And I suppose I should also block off some places to draw attention to the linear progression.

Eden Legacy: A Knight of Eden

Did you open the game with the RM2K engine? Or did you just play by clicking on the .exe file? I'm still trying to figure out if that is the problem with the music, 'cause that's how it works on my end.

(That town is a dungeon, you obviously left without exploring at all).

I wish people would stop ragging on the graphics! You clearly know what you're getting into, it's minimalism. The black and white doesn't give it away? Also, the dialogue is exactly as it should be. It's brief and precise, and I'm pretty sure there are no spelling errors anywhere. I wanted it to be reminiscent of classics like FF1.

I do appreciate the constructive criticism, but I don't think you gave it much of a chance either. I understand that maybe it needs more to hook you from the start, but you played 10 mins of a 15 hour game.

Eden Legacy: A Knight of Eden

lol quite angry, apparently.
I stick by my decision to use this music though, regardless of how many issues it may bring. That's why this is the beta release and not the final.

Eden Legacy: A Knight of Eden

Hmm, okay you raise some good points here. I agree with the walking speed to be honest, I was afraid to do this because many other 'retro' rm games are using the slow walk... but yeah Pangea is huge so it did make my play through a little annoying at times. I like your idea of the choice. I'll most likely implement that as well.

Now about the intro, I'll have to check into this and see what other people are thinking. Is the dialogue introducing the main character not showing up at all?

You're right about the pokemon rips, for some reason I'm having trouble fixing them. It's been working right with all the other sheets, so I'm not sure what the problem is. That's something I definitely plan on fixing for the final release.

Eden Legacy: A Knight of Eden

No music....? DAMNIT! This is what I was so worried about.
But dude, you start on the tiniest island with a cave, what more direction do you need? There are also people that tell you if you talk to them, and I included the walkthrough. And the graphics and walk speed are part of the retro aspect.
Nevertheless, I can't let anyone download this until I somehow fix the music issue.

Phantasia 3

I've played the first two Phantasia titles, and a little bit of this one now. I'm very impressed with how much they improve each game, both in terms of aesthetics and game mechanics. Dialogue is still bad but I'll forgive that since its been out for so long.

I saw the trailer for Phantasia 5 yesterday though, and I swear it looks like one of the best RM games ever to grace the internet! Here's hoping you finish it this year! In the meantime, I still have 3, 4, and the remake to play through :)

Marvel Brothel

The amount of work you put into this is impressive, regardless of how strange the concept is. Hats off to ya

The Boss Project

Is there a boss project II, or does it skip directly to III for a reason?

Eden Legacy: A Knight of Eden

Beta testing will be open to anyone so you're more than welcome. My goal is to have the beta version ready for the end of April latest.

One Night: Full Circle

In the realm of RPGs (and survival horror), the more sequels = the better ;)
