MISAO RESULTS 2023

HUH!?! WHAT THE HOLY SHIT!! Thank you for the nominations and the award!! It's an honorrr! I definitely need to check out the other nominations and winners one day! Agh! Thanks again!

Paradise Blue

Joining the crowd to say Paradise Blue is ALSO one of my favorite RPG Maker games, it fights for the number 1 spot! It's always fun to go back to this game. There's a lot of side stuff to do or explore, & like Gourd said, great environments and team building.

Boulevard of Broken 2k3 Dreams

Ah sweet. If I participate, I can finally bring my "ripping music from games for my RPG maker games like it's the 2000s" style into an engine where this was the norm.

I'm currently focused on finishing up a project this month, but this event IS chill... I'm sure I could manage something small afterwards if I've still got interest.

The Legend of Gaymak: Queer Awakening

I won't be able to make anything for this event, but I'll be looking forward to what everyone else makes

Reboot from the Roots Up

Ohh nice, I enjoyed this game! I'll be looking forward to the reboot

One Final Burial Review

I hadn't even realized how similar the premises for One Final Burial and Tower of the Starblessed were lmao. I'm glad to hear you've enjoyed what's available of OFB so far! Especially the characters, since characters are something I always try to make well...

I keep getting different causes reported for the decimal damage, so it's been taking some time to figure out the specific cause of it... Hoping it's something I can figure out soon.

Thanks very much for the review!

RMN's Event Event

Thanks Orochii! I'm glad yall enjoyed One Final Burial! I hadn't thought about how inconsistent some item & skill descriptions while making this version lmao. Thanks for letting me know!

Solid visuals and good use of sound effects. The remixed music is very nice and enjoyable on its own, adding mood and atmosphere to the single image dungeons. Dialogues between the quirky characters are entertaining. Pacing is great and ensures that you learn the importance of every new skill you get. Overall, it's pleasant to play and well-polished.
I stumbled upon a few bugs: SP shown on the dungeon maps doesn't update after revival. The snakes lose 1.66666666667 SP after a certain attack, which looks really silly.
I made it to the 4th dungeon (I think? Maybe it's the 5th).
The big downside is that the experience is very linear, even during battles, due to the combination of having a limited set of skills and only 1 or 2 of them being useful when facing each enemy. Replay value would be very low for me. It's a good concept though, and could also be suitable for a bigger, longer, more complex and less linear game.

Thanks very much for the feedback! I'm glad to hear the dialogue was enjoyable and that the pacing was good.

Yeah I sadly noticed that snake SP issue too late before entries were due. Hoping to find out what happened there. And yeah the whole game was made very linear, I won't lie. For a jam game I figured it works, but a longer game, I'd definitely make some changes. & the rest area after the 4th floor is the end of the demo, so it sounds like you got close to the end.

Thanks again for playing!

RMN's Event Event

I was hoping to have a completed game, even after I couldn't start til early April, so I'm positive I ain't submitting a full game without some sorta crunch... Which I try to avoid for jams these days.

Demo it is. For now, I'll just write the last demo scene & polish what I have.
