Fantastic work. These visuals are awesome.
One thing that stands out to me when it snaps to one of the 8 directions it looks very noticeable. This is probably because everything else is so fluent with many frames of animation making it look smooth then the changing directions isn't.
Still, very impressive.


Thanks Galy! And yeah the 8 directions is visible, that is because the movement is controlled by the keyboard keys... that can not make movement in every directions or angles. A solution for that is make the movement in the mouse, but I believe that will make some changes in the gameplay... because I want that the player can change directions with more agility in the battles.

Can't beat 8-way movementI can't read :)

The walk movement is a 8 frames chara... the walk archive have 32 different poses for the walk movement. The archive to the running graphic of the character have the same value, 32 diferent poses for the running movement. xD (8 for each direction).

And for the attack, I'm using the same 8 frames to each direction xD.

A normal Npc will consist of a two archives of 32 poses. A archive only for the stand pose and a second one for the walk pose. The enemies have at last three archives of 32 poses... the extra archive is for the attack animation.

The current title's irked me a bit too, but I held my peace. It's probably been pointed out at least once that 'Clash of the Lions' bears an overly striking resemblance to FFT's "Lion War".

Name changes are fine though. I think you've changed at least twice now anyway.

For the record I kinda liked the first name this project had, I guess maybe the project itself changed since that name but the gamepage/general look and style of the game seems to have remained consistent so, yeah.


The last subname, "Skyhelm Prophecies" will be used in the Second game xD. That's because this game will so big if I include the Skyhelm Prophecies main plot... That will be reserved to a second game.

Can you only swing once? It looks that way from the video. It's not very 'actiony' if you can't chain attacks together in rapid succession imo...

I think that the attacks will be a little limited by your skills. I will try to do a type of combo system when you can make 2 or 3 more attacks together after the first one. The attacks are limited by the "Atk Speed" subtracted by the player character "Agility". Some weapons are speedy than another’s, but some weapons do a lot of damage but is slow to continue its attacks. I'm yet trying the possibilities in the system to see what I can do. But in this video, I'm with the worst weapon in the game and in the character level 1, xD. I will make another videos when I decide how to make the combo system ( I need to draw the combo sprites too, that is my main excuse xP)

Wow, but I don't recomend it, the portuguese language have a very hard learning curve... I will do my best to translate the game when it is completed.

I'm planning a English version, but...I need someone to correct the english grammar...
