Scarlet Skies

Gonna post a little teaser for when you get to meet Ken. If you've played through the demo you'll have heard of him. If you haven't, he's a famous Spellcaster who specializes in fire.
Here's a hilarious quote when Dread and Ken first meet.

Dread: So, you're famous eh?
Ken: Absolutely, everyone knows who I am
Dread: Well then I feel sorry for everyone
Ken: No need to be like that man...
Dread: Yeah, whatever, I gotta run anyway, My erm... Hair needs cutting...
Ken: Fine then, have a nice day!
Dread: Don't tell me what to do

Yeah, it's a funny scene. You'll enjoy it.

What exactly is it about making a free amateur game that is urgent?
I said urgent for lack of a better word.
It's just because I'm a terrible digital artist when it comes to making things from scratch, and I need someone to draw original monsters in the VXAce RTP art style.
I also need someone to compose the music, I'm finding myself using music from other games.

well i'm a very quick learner it took me 2 month to learn how to make good maps... and also some people help me back at the other site by providing me with some information and the logo for the science and magic game it wasn't me who created that logo it was created by someone else... and also the reason why i join that contest is to challenge myself if i can make a good game in just 3 month. :) (i love challenges...)
That's just it jomar, your maps aren't "good" yet. You have two very significant problems that everyone experiences when they are new.

First, you make your maps far too large, resulting in the areas within your maps being too large as well. When you are mapping, try to keep in mind the proportions and size of rooms in real life. Try to map out your rooms so that they would match the size of rooms in real life. Pretend that each side of one tile in VX Ace is equal to approximately 2-3 feet in real life.

Second, your maps are often pretty dull in terms of what's in them. Some maps have too much empty floor while others have barren fields with no vegetation of any kind. When you're mapping outdoors make sure to cluster vegetation together rather than sporadically putting down trees and bushes all over the place. For example , most forests should be combat and clustered with small pathways leading through them rather than having HUGE open areas.

I just pulled this off of Google as an example:http://img10.xooimage.com/files/6/d/f/ffvx2map2-260e58.gif

See how they use space on their map? Everything is fairly nice and compact, and it looks great. If you use too much space and have too much empty land then your game's presentation suffers tremendously as a result.

Re-posting. My last post was originally going to say this, but it is not something I can say with out horrible wording.

I've been on RM for three years, and now I'd say I'm "almost good" at what I do. To put into perspective, it took me literally hours to be an average guitarist, and I got the hang of Zelda in seconds.
In short, it never takes me long to be good at something, and I wouldn't say I'm even good at RM yet.

thank for all of your help and understanding since i'm not reading anymore complains whih is now i can work in peace...
and also you already know this is my first game and also the first time using rpg maker product so i already made some great thing now since i been working so slow now.
and private beta version will be available soon and i will pick a random member of the site to try the private beta version before the version 0.2 released of future helper: science and magic game.
FINISH SEVEN TOWERS FIRST.
Also, listen to people when they try to help you.
well i'm joining this competition http://www.64digits.com/users/index.php?userid=Toast&cmd=comments&id=272934 so i have to finished it before one month this is the currently main work but it will only contain minor spoiler from the seven towers game. and i have school so i can work if i have time.
These contests will be impossible to win unless you have access to a reliable translator to edit the dialogue. I suggest abandoning contests until you gain more experience with making the first game.

It's taken you 2 months to make OK maps, they still need a LOT of work. You're really not ready for competitions. I mean, you downloaded VX Ace to make a game for a competition...

It's Done

But the game looked so amazing :(

Update #6: If you think you know how the game will pan out you're wrong

I assume you've read this then?

Also, I will admit that the golem that Pandora's trying to revive will be battled, and so will Pandora, but not at the same dungeon...

You've given no viable incentive for people to help you. Just "help me please, this is urgent!" And on top of that you call the very small amount of people who could hypothetically be inclined to help you "useless"? And then you still wonder why nobody's around to care about your game and save you? It's simple to see from these posts that you don't know what you're doing (in terms of recruiting and probably game-making as well).

Haha yeah I kinda don't.
But yeah, sorry if I came across as a twat, I just need artists pretty urgently.

Progress Report #3

author=kentona
this is a pretty bare-bones "progress" report (that was incorrectly categorized as an Announcement").

Maybe save up your progress items until you have something more significant to report?
I am doing so, do not worry.
