TESTZERO'S PROFILE

I'm a budding game designer who has been experimenting with RPG Maker for a while. I've finished one complete game, and I've been working hard on the sequel for the last few years. Hopefully the feedback I get on this site will be just the kick in the pants I need.

Monochrome Review

Thank you very much for your honest review. I will admit, the game is incomplete in its current form, but hearing that it is actually unbeatable is very disappointing. I rushed through creating the final dungeons in a matter of hours, so I was unable to properly play test them or populate them with appropriate enemies. I will be sure to determine the cause these bugs and implement an update as soon as I can, as well as make Ichor Ooze a much less common enemy.

Oh no. Those green tiles should NOT be there. That is a glitch in the tileset system. It's loading the wrong tileset.

However, if you take a step back and choose to knock on the door again while he's standing near it, Barus will turn to face 'south' and you won't be able to do anything other than manually shut down the game. Judging from Barus's 'reaction' to this second knock, I think the event for him to walk to the door is still trigger, but since he is already at the door he simply faces the wall and the event cannot complete.

Okay, it seems Barus isn't working quite correctly. He should return to his spot after he talks to you every time. For now, if he doesn't return to his spot after talking to you, leave Centerville and come back. He should be back to where he's supposed to be. Avoid knocking on the door when he's not standing in his default location to keep from freezing the game.

Err, I seem to have discovered a monochrome malfunction, and I'm not sure if it is my fault:

RGSS202E.dll could not be found

You need the RTP to play the game.

Alright! It's as done as it's gonna get, but it's playable, and should keep you occupied with several hours of death, exploration, grinding, and 'puzzle solving'

It's crude and ugly, and a lot of levels lack nuance, but god dammit, it should be beatable!

Hopefully this is adequate for completed game credit. Enjoy!

What exactly qualifies as a "full game"? I can likely have all 9 levels finished and playable, but enemies will still need balancing, Levels will need tweaking for aesthetics and playability, bugs will need fixing, and game-breakers will be present. Will that still count as a full game for 100 MS?

I'm currently playing through your game. Took me a bit to get going. I think I died... three times before finally staying alive long enough to advance. I'd like to do an LP of this in the future if I can figure out all the places to go to and in what order.
That would be great, but please wait until the version I'm actually proud of is out.

It would be nice if we could, you know, differentiate the hero from... everyone else.

The hero is always in the center of the screen.

I just put up my NaGaDeMo demo, hoping to finish it by the end of the month (as it rushes quickly toward us!)

Hi, you sound like a reasonable guy, so I'll ask nicely... Could you please, pretty please, not blog so often? Blogs are an terrific tool to keep track of your own progress and let others know about it, but they're are not your 'dear diary' either, you know? Like all tools, you must learn to use blogs responsibly, both for your own and everybody else's sake.

No trying to discourage you, but besides a video there's barely nothing of interest in these blogs, and on an almost daily basis they're kind of pointless. You could at least blog once per week, and try and make it interesting or funny for extra points...

I guess I could cut them down to whenever I have a video.
