I am CashmereCat now.

Twisted baubles replace my brain and I am toxic yet nice. There's a lot to me, but also not a lot going on up there, they say. PM me because I love attention, I do interviews, I do reviews, I do stuff. Here for the long haul. Gotta hustle.

I'm working on whatever I'm working on, and I love RPG Maker games that aren't traditional RPGs. Puzzlers, interactive stories, but nothing too abstract that'll weird me out. Just give me a polished gem and I'll stare at it for days, marveling at the way the light reflects just right, inner inflections, potato top pie.

I want to make games with you.

What are you thinking about? (game development edition)

Wait, there are people who don't plan anything ahead of time? Like, people who actually finish stuff? I mean, Treasure's director has gone on record saying that "you can't make a good action game if you just follow the plans", but I'm pretty sure they still have plans of some kind!
I've finished several of my (short) games with almost no plan except a general idea.
I doubt you would be able to do it with a longer game of certain genres, though.

Did you do this with Rust and Blood or Skinwalker? Not being critical; I'm just curious.

WYRM WARRIORS! Design a location!

What LockeZ said. Things I would look for are: map size, sparsity of detail, straightness of roads - a style of mapping that I can try to emulate so there's not too much of a clash of different techniques used.

WYRM WARRIORS! Design a location!

Can we please have a sample of what a map currently looks like? So that we know what mapping style to use for the game?

I like looking at Kaempfer's version of that map. It looks very... natural.

WYRM WARRIORS! The Legend Must Go On!

I think we should post up a list of all the maps in the game, and then we can each reserve a map that we're going to make. At the end of the day, we can connect them all together somehow.

The Screenshot Topic Returns

I wasn't too bothered by the trees. But... the biggest offender was that windowskin. That gradient of the windowskin does not fit the aesthetic of the game at all. That said, the retro style of the game makes me a little happy inside. Good work, arandomgamemaker.

How about curved road tiles? Like you do those cliff tiles?

Fantastic organic-looking maps, by the way.

This is beautiful. May I ask - did you do this map using parallaxing, or did you convert Celianna's tiles to a tileset format? Looks gorgeous. I wish I could make maps like this - ever!

Mapping Meandering

Good work, Melkino. Glad to hear you're being productive, on this game or otherwise. Keep up all that hard work!

An RM Venture

*Singing* You can't always get what you want. You can't always get what you want.
But if you try sometimes... well you just might find...
You get what you NEEEEEEEED~

Amen. Sing it my brother!

Anyways, what am I complaining about? I made that thing in 2 hours. It was a joke game basically. :)
