Monster Hunter Egg Quest Review

Ah. I guess you didn't find the bug involving the cat with the large bombs.

Operation Christmas-acation

Minor Bugs

For starters the game doesn't remove the option to reminisce after you've used up all three uses of this option. As a result if you attempt to use this option a fourth time it causes the screen to go mostly black.

An issue that isn't that bad if you haven't moved particularly far away from the sofa since you can just reuse it again to wait out the remaining time before Mary returns. And you'll probably only run into this issue after you've completed almost all of the decorating tasks anyway.

The nativity scene on the other hand is an absolute mess of weird bugs. For starters the game doesn't instantly lock a piece in place when you put it in the correct position. This means you can push it past the correct square which will result in pieces locking down in the wrong spot when you reset the puzzle. In the case of Jesus, Mary, and Joseph they will be locked in whatever square you put them in. And yes if you use the run option you can push Mary to the left or right of dead center.

The angel on the other hand is even weirder in that she'll respawn in her starting position for the puzzle but be impossible to move. You can also move pieces over the stable in a way that probably shouldn't be possible.

And that's all of the bugs I noticed over the course of three runs through the game.

Weird?

Apparently after all this time youtube is no longer blocking my You Say Run video on copyright grounds. Previously it had been blocked by the company that owns the rights to Nuku Nuku TV on the grounds I left the original audio in for one of the best jokes in the entire series. That joke of course being "SECRET CALL".

Oh well, I suppose it's better late than never that this meme video for "You Say Run" goes with everything was out there.

Ginger Review

I suppose that does help, but I was more annoyed about the loss of games like "A Krampus Christmas".

Bropaca and the Beachtime Blues Review

Well if the game is that short I can probably find time to sneak it in while I'm cooking some tater-tots or a pizza after work.

It's not like I'm going to get through all of the stuff I want to get through anyway since my list of stuff is so long I'd probably have to make in excess of 300 videos in a single month to complete it.

Bropaca and the Beachtime Blues Review

I'll think about it, but the bigger problem is I have a laundry list of other projects I want to work on both onsite and offsite involving old handhelds as well as old consoles.

The Ash Black Cat and the Happy Ogre Review

It's fine. It's not like I get a lot of comments on my reviews to begin with. And at least you didn't respond like redwall10 does by hiding your project in response.

And I suppose the state of the school has gotten more believable since I played this game due to issues with British school buildings being unsafe for students in some cases.

The Pyramid Review

The main secret to beating this game is to grab the hidden stash of Dragon gear on the left side of the screen underneath the upper left most tree. And you should avoid most regular enemies. In fact, it's only worth fighting a single trash mob and I suggest saving that for after you reach the floor you can save on since you can revisit that floor by going through a hole in the wall on the next floor that contains a treasure chest containing 999 gold coins which is just one short of what you need to use the healing chambers on that floor. Though if this game is worth beating is still debatable since it's entire gimmick relies on the player not looking for the hidden stashes or stumbling into them on accident.

Though you do have to love how the developer managed to misspell the name of their own game on the congratulations screen.

I'm not really a competitive player either. I just find the game a bit too easy as Naruto to simply overwhelm most of the computer opponent's with mindless button mashing to consider it interesting. It doesn't even reach the level of forcing you to learn a basic combo like the Kamehameha Wave in the Dragon Ball Z: Budokai] series of games.

Though to be fair, "Uzumaki Chronicles" and "Uzumaki Chronicles 2" on the PS2 are pretty similar in that regard. Albeit the second game is probably better simply because it allows the player to improve Naruto's strength and defense so it's easier to deal with some of the bosses that have insane amounts of HP and defense. And it's possible to farm insane amounts of experience once you've beaten the main story once.

Though I will agree the second game is a lot harder with Gaara's automatic defense really making it hard to pummel him into submission.

Let's Play Updates (March 2024)

I think it's a bit too button mashy. So it's pretty easy for even a noob like me to beat story or one-player mode by just spamming the B button like I'm Saitama from "One Punch Man".

Though I suppose that's preferable to the almost 500 turns I spent on defeating a single boss in episode 13 of my "Etrian Odyssey III" run with just a hoplite.
