Congrats to all the winners and nominees! (except me probably, I've no idea why my game won in the Eye Candy category c':)
Even though I wasn't able to contribute much in terms of nominating and voting, it still was a fun experience of discovering awesome indie games and seeing some of my favorite titles from the last year getting recognition they deserve. Looking forward to more RMN goodness in 2023!

Warm Prism Review

Glad I could made your day with my writing and thank you for such a great game!! And hey, I really appreciate your and the dev team's efforts in learning English by putting it to practice like this c: (I think many people would agree that English is a very weird language with its abundance of pronunciation-spelling differences and grammar exceptions, which makes it quite tough to learn and speak in regardless of what one's native tongue is, so it's all good)

Your decision to add visual (and audio, completely forgot about mentioning that!) cues for important choices without much experience in playing visual novels is a good indicator (pun intended) of your excellent game design skills, in my opinion! It's also a good effort in pushing towards accessibility that many visual novels seem to lack nowadays and I applaud to that. Looking forward to seeing more games from you, as well as checking your previously developed titles!

Oh, and thanks for pointing out the existence of Linux version (or, rather, a cross-platform Python script/executable), I've no idea how it went completely over my head when booting up the game, though I guess this really shows how I've grown accustomed to separate zip files for Linux versions of free games c':

Inner Sanctum

Had a bit of a rough time with slippery controls and framerate drops (which is very likely to be a problem of me using Wine to play the game... using Linux for gaming can be such a pain sometimes, sigh), but I'm glad I persevered those to uncover the interesting villain reveal, the somewhat cheesy yet very enjoyable story and the beautiful maps with pretty light effects!! I also liked the "their fate is in your hands" mechanic a lot, though I may be kind of biased here since one of the earlier RPG Maker titles I like a lot has a similar thing c':
Either way, great job on the game, I'll do my best to get ending A (the only one I haven't unlocked yet) once I try playing it on my older Windows machine!

P.S. (spoilers and profanity sort of)
Had a straight face throughout most of the game but seeing the words "GRANDMA PU**Y" being said by the villain made me lose it entirely lmao c':

Best of All

Won't lie, I spent nearly half of my playtime drinking and playing the game of dice until the next day's date wasn't showing anymore. I even won 250 bucks once, haha! Still, I had fun playing through the story and even learning something new about how law works in the U.S. (assuming this is where the game takes place from the university names mentioned)!

Not sure if this may be helpful or not, but aside from the clipping issues mentioned above, I've also noticed the text that appears when entering the condo for the first time can reappear when leaving the final room without reaching the ending (but I'm guessing I wasn't actually supposed to do that c':).

Ninth Day Memorial

Thanks for letting me know (and for playing for that long, too)! Guess I did underestimate the time it would take to complete the game 100% after all c':

Also
The Origins can be unlocked after getting all the endings, but only (not really) in the latest version, since older versions contain bugs that render some of the endings permanently locked when a certain condition is met, so that's that.

I liked the game, though! An emotionally resonant story complemented by expressive art. Very nice.

Glad to hear you liked it!! Out of curiosity, for how long have you been able to play the game?

Ninth Day Memorial Review

I'm extremely late to this, but nevertheless - woahhh!! Thank you so, so much for the review and for your incredibly kind words, really glad to hear the game's plot resonated with you! And also thank you for pointing out the mapping issue, I originally wanted to leave the bottom wall tiles passable just because the bottom door tiles are, but I, too, find walking on walls to be an eyesore in RPG Maker games, so I might just fix that eventually.
Speaking of eyesores... I'm incredibly sorry to see this abomination of a font you got to play the game with, I tried playing the game using Wine and even though there was a different font, too, it wasn't nearly as bad as this one ; - ;

With that being said, I will definitely try to engage more with the RMN community and to release a longer and a much more fun-to-play title as well (which is already in the works)! Thanks again!

Best of luck with your game and what I can see is that you're really talented, keep it up!

Thank you for the kind words!

The text is pretty smooshed after getting the harmony dll and setting compatibly to windows7, it's been awhile for playing rm games for me and I got a new comp recently. Have you come across this problem?

author=gorha
I had the same issue with the text. I was able to sort-of-fix it by replacing the RPG_RT.exe for Ninth Day Memorial with the one from A Blurred Line; it changed the font to something legible, but not the font in NDM's screenshots and not the one ABL uses either.

Huh, never came across anything of the sort since I used a decently aged Windows 7 laptop for making and testing the game, but I do know someone I could ask later to verify if they have the same issue as well. Guess this is what I should have expected when importing and using the earlier version of RM2K haha Thanks a lot for pointing this out!

I'll start with that I love the artistic nature of this game but it's painful to look at it and read. It's seemingly becoming more normal the past few years even from people on this site that have made or worked on decent games.

Thank you for the comment! Not sure if you're referring to either the generous amount of text or the primitive pixel graphics with lots of dithering (or both even) but sorry to hear you're feeling uncomfortable playing this and games with similar elements, catering to everyone's preferences is hard, after all.

Ninth Day Memorial Review

Woahhh! Thank you so much for the nice review and for giving this game a go, I appreciate it from the bottom of my heart!!!

I'd like to add that this game is meant to be completed within a single save file (or, rather, one continuous playthrough), which is why there are prompts after each ending to restart the game from the item picking part, so saving after the graveyard isn't necessary!
