I hope this isn't too much of a self-plug for a status post, but I wasn't sure where else to post this. XD

Here's some projects you can expect from me in the future. I have a bad habit of starting new projects too frequently, so I'm going to try hard to finish all the games that already have gamepages up before I attempt any of these XD

Lilies of Vanigale

Lilies of Vanigale is the tale of Arisa, a paladin-in-training at the famed Vanigale Academy. Like Luxaren Allure, the game focuses on lesbian romance, but instead you get to decide who Arisa ends up with out of three possible love interests. The focus is less on wooing and "winning" the girl and more on the two's relationship.

This game is what I was working on before I joined RMN and is already has a good ten hours of gameplay done. It's in RPG Maker XP and has great character art by Sooz, who is also helping me polish the dialog. If you're interested, I'll leave several screenshots below a hide tag!

Example skill menu. Demi's skills don't use SP and each have charges instead. Use all the charges and the skill is exhausted until you rest.


She could always visit the all-boys academy to the west...

Other games are still in the Idea Phase and don't even have proper names yet :P

Cute Arcade Game Where You Don't Want to Die

Pretty much a cutesy game that I'll probably make when I want to blow off some steam from all of these RPGs. You pretty much just have to stay alive, while collecting trinkets that you can use to increase your max health as well as how long you blink-invincible after taking damage.

The game's cuteness is in no way to make you lower your guard for something horrific. Would I do something like that? :D

Space Adventure Mecha Game

This game will center around the crew of a spaceship in a Xenosaga-esce adventure (but with less plot XD) and would be episodic, with each episode featuring a different crew-member as the protagonist. While originally planned to be another romance-heavy game, I may tone down or eliminate that aspect to focus on a game that everyone can enjoy.

Anyway, is that Sooz's art I see for Lillies of Vanigale? Cool! It does bear so many similarities to LA that I'd call it Luxaren Allure 2: Lillie of Vanigale.

Everything else looks good!

Yep! Sooz has done awesome work for the game! ...While Lilies could work for a Luxaren Allure sequel, I'd feel a little weird doing that since Lilies was technically started first XD But it would still definitely work as even though I'd envisioned them on different worlds, thematically the two games are similar.

I am curious about Space Adventure Mecha Game because I have a Space Tactics RPG Mecha Game that's been going nowhere fast mostly due to lack of Tactics Script and lack of Mecha graphics.


*Edit: Mine wouldn't be episodic, though. It would still focus on the crew, though.

"Who's the best mechanic on the Kamiyama? It's gotta be the Toshie-chan! You know it's true!"

Darigaaz, I thought I forgot about that game-idea.

Oooh, that sounds cool! Like a Final Fantasy Tactics in space with mecha?

I was just going to do it like Xenogears, with characters battling and summoning mecha. But that might be hard, since I can't exactly zoom out like Xenogears to have both characters and mecha on the screen at the same time, so I might either have to make areas mecha-only or remove the character-battle from the game entirely.

As for the sprites, I'll probably end up commissioning someone for them, as drawing mecha is really hard XD

Ahh, the art for Lilies looks really good! The premise sounds great. I'd love to see more romance in games focus on actual relationships and not just ending right after the "winning someone over" part, y'know?

Yeah, exactly! :D I wanted to follow the romance a little more naturally. Hopefully I'll be able to pull it off.

And I'm totally in love with Sooz's art for the game. I can't wait to get the game out, after I finish all my current games, of course ^^;; Thanks for your interest :D

The general idea goes back to my early XP days. I might not have had appropriate graphics (or much of anything, for that matter), but, I worked it so that mechs got traditional level-ups. I probably thought I was doing something different, because OH MY GOD, MECHS GROW? but, ultimately, I wasn't.

That's cool by me! I was thinking that pilots would have separate stats from mecha, but would use VX Ace's flexible damage formula to reference the pilot's stats for part of the damage. Though if individual combat is eliminated, mecha and pilot stats could basically be one and the same.

Huh. I set it up so that the class of a character was actually the mech they rode. So, if I do that tactic now, in VX Ace, Darigaaz! Class switching! Stats are a property of the class not the actor!

Not sure about how skill-learning would work, though.

Skills were specific to the character, but that was because it was in XP. If I were to do it in VX Ace, I would probably have skills dependent on equipment. Most likely weapons and/or AI cores, though, I could possibly see armor plating (armor modules?) get various passive abilities.
