Water to the Deep

I only do this one time with unfinished games but, do you need any music for your game?
Here is a link to some sombre music for ambience.

To The_Stillborn_Child:

Thanks for your visit. I used to need music for my story, but ancient Chinese only.
The musics in my story are based on the five notes of the ancient Chinese five-tone scale,
which in the form of music scores rather than a real audio file.
Most of the music scores have stood the test of centuries.
For some reason, I have to make a very long time hiatus until next year...
So, thank you anyway.

You can move your post to
http://bbs.66rpg.com/forum-474-1.html
and tell みかげ your purpose (...bored with the music provided by the rpg maker...)

http://bbs.66rpg.com/home.php?mod=space&uid=300064&do=blog&id=11825
みかげ must be terribly pleased!

By the way, http://translate.google.com
I think you need it.(You can communicate with みかげ in English)

Oracle of Tao

I don't know where you get the raw pic for your title background, the meaning of the Chinese characters not correspond to the right 卦(trigrams), and the orientation of the Chinese scripts is inconsistent.

You can make some changes to your pic as:

☰(乾 qián)sky
☵(坎 kǎn)water
☶(艮 gèn)mountain
☳(震 zhèn)thunder
☴(巽 xùn)wind
☲(离 lí)fire
☷(坤 kūn)earth
☱(兑 duì)lake

TRIGRAM can be a useful prop for some RPGs, can be used as MAGICs, and search for the missing trigrams is a good thread for this kind of story. In this case, the scripts like this ☰ should correspond to the Chinese characters like this 乾. By the way, if you want to make some changes to your previous pic, you can move Chinese phonetic alphabet(like qián...) away, and replace them to their English meaning(like sky...). If you're not gonna have the TRIGRAM's real meaning in your RPG, you can keep your previous pic.

I made some small changes to your pic:

I hope this piece of suggestion will be useful to ya.

Water to the Deep

Thanks for your visit and advice.

I'd prefer it if the game didn't keep popping up a message box that told me to continue. Though, perhaps there was some kind of picture change, or other transition, and putting in the textbox was the best way to allow the game to update? Not too sure on that point, as the transitions (or whatever) were near imperceptible. At least at the offset. It's hard to explain, I guess.

I have another version (Ancient Chinese) of this composition has not released, and it’s difficult for me to choose a proper vocabulary in English for the ancient characters with similar meanings. That's the reason for those "continue"s. I would consider make some changes to this version if I find a proper word in English (to replace those "continue"s)or other possible solution.

putting in the textbox was the best way to allow the game to update
It's just on the beginning, and I have not provide enough hint to player, if I set this plot in the middle of the story, that can be a good idea. I just want to show a story to the readers rather than let the players work out this puzzle. It's a RPS more than RPG. Anyway, I have made the opening briefer and easier in Version 2.0.0.3.

The next puzzle is weird. I assume that the hint object gave me, well, a hint, but the lines and rotations it showed and what I seem to be able to work with doesn't match logically.

That’s it. Narrative more than logic, I just want to show a broken past memory to the player. Now that you mention "logically" , you might think there should be a puzzle worth you to work out. In fact, if you pay attention to the whole structure of this puzzle, you might realize only put the Konghou at a right place and direction before you leave a single cell. At the "?" I just provide a general hint rather than any specific hint to the puzzle on this map, if you need a full solution to this puzzle please visit here:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pqPOL1CILHU

I'm not sure how you pulled this off, but this works as a single executable? A common software.

Here are more advices maybe can help you:
Konghou is an ancient plucked stringed instrument.
Move the Konghou: as many push boxes games made by rpgmaker, just use the the direction key to control it.
Move the Konghou: the blank space key does this action.
Only if you let the virtual soul of the character pass the special enchantment from the right direction the story can continue.

Enjoy your time in the story :)

Water to the Deep

This is a lovely looking game. Even though there are typos, I enjoy the poetic way of speaking between the 2 dieties. The movies of the earth are pretty graphics intensive for my Windows XP so I had to stop playing there. I'll have to play this on a Windows 7.

Thanks for playing.

I would make a further check to my dictions.
Some of the dictions were designed as the broken mirror rather than mistakes.

By the way:
Do not miss(If so) the Opening (the plot can be skipped) if you're interested in it.
It's a key plot but the puzzle is not easy,
and it's a thread for the rest story yet to be completed.
It may take a few minutes if you get the hang of your mouse.
That's need a lot of patience and it's the reason for the "Skip the Opening" Option.
Play it when you're not busy and enjoy yourself~

"I'll have to play this on a Windows 7."
I changed some codes and its more convenient for most PCs(Memory>=1G).
