Codex of Alera Roleplay

Alright, situation's under control, I've got this under control... "Keep doing what you're doing, get rid of the rest of this fire," I command my fury. I'll defend myself against any Windmanes that come my way. (wait did the water rushing in get rid of all the fire? I'd assume so, lemme redo this)
Right," I address my fury, "how about this: I'll catch the some Windmares' attention, and when they try to attack me you leap in and destroy 'em! Tone down the fire this time, alright? Let's try it then!" Please, don't make the legion go up in flames this time...

Codex of Alera Roleplay

Ah, though so.
My fury and I shall do our best to calm the flames, especially those closest to the legionnaires, and any near the entrance. "Watercrafters! Assist me in putting out these fires immediately! Everyone else! Avoid the flames as best you can, and dispatch these Windmanes!"

Codex of Alera Roleplay

"Ugh..." Great, juuuuust great. Sure that damn Captain is real happy about this. The whole legion's up in flames now. Think before you act, idiot! "Hey, get back over here, you!" I call my fury back to me. "Right, need to put all this out..."
Is there any source of water anywhere that people with Water furies can use? Hell, just water in general? And uh, I'm sure I can MAKE fire, but can I also make it dissipate?

Codex of Alera Roleplay

"Ah hell, there's that fury activity." Windmanes, explains the storm coming up. "Everyone! Summon your furies and take them out, now!" Might as well summon my Fire fury as well. I'll order him to attack the Windmanes closest to us.
(So, since these things can't be affected by anything not fury-related, what does that mean for metal furies? Assuming my metal fury is in my spear, could I fight these things with said spear? Not gonna unless I have to, just asking. Or am I being a dummy and they can be affected normally by typical weapons?)

Demo V1.0 Up!

Right, I haven't finished the demo yet (though I'm sure I'm close, I'm just too lazy to go find that last coin) but hey, my thoughts so far and maybe one or two bugs:
Little passability error? I can walk right over these... tiny barrel things here. Pretty minor thing, but might as well mention it:

Might just be me, but after an event on the first floor where the music's replaced with creepy breathing, the creepy breathing just keeps going. I assume this is intentional, but after a while the creepy breathing stops being creepy and just gets old. Could it... stop eventually? (Does it stop eventually?)
I was able to use the bug I found somewhere other than the puzzle it was needed for, and it disappeared from my inventory, meaning I couldn't complete that puzzle. Also, speaking of which, after
giving the bug to the spider and retrieving the coin, I was still able to interact with the spider, and still able to "see something shining" under it's nest.
This purposeful? I would assume not.
I really like how there are different footstep sound effects whenever you're stepping on different things, like tile, carpet, paper, etc! Adds to the atmosphere (something else I like in this game!). The graphics are pretty well done as well.
I'm looking forward to seeing this game complete!

Codex of Alera Roleplay

They don't? Then uh, how DO they manifest? Do I need to go read this damn book series I actually almost want to now
that explains the lack of "summoned Fury" slot that I thought was an error and meant to mention but forgot about
Edit: ohhhh I see. Okaysies, nevermind on the metal fury's form then.

Codex of Alera Roleplay

OH
Furies
forms
uh
Fire Fury: Cerberus! The three headed-one. Except... smaller. Cerberus, but the size of the average full-grown wolf. He has smallish horns, and a tail with fire on the end of it because fire I get the feeling that this is cliche and has been done before in the book but I haven't read it so what do I know
Metal Fury: Uhhh An... armadillo? A large armadillo? Like, the size of a horse! And it's shell is metal. Iron methinks, or steel, or... whatever really. Metal of some sort. Let's just say iron. pff never mind
Don't worry, you guys all can sit in the back and pelt the enemy with arrows while I sit in the front with my shield! I volunteer as tank! ...again.

Codex of Alera Roleplay

Yeah, I don't see why you shouldn't keep HP. And uh, don't mind starting sooner (okay actually I kinda do), but could we possibly wait a bit, to get more people? Or will others be able to join in mid-game or something?

Codex of Alera Roleplay

Nice to see you here too, Zu- Ilan!
right, so if I'm understanding,, I don't need any points in Dual Wield, and I have two extra points now in Weapons because of my Metal fury, and two extra points in Combat every level up for both Metal and Fire furies? Cool! I'm going to redo this real quick, then:
Weapons Branch: Command +2 (3), Counter +2 (3), Block +1 (2), Parry +2 (3)
General Branch: Bargain +1 (2), Intimidate +1 (2), Charm +1 (2), Energy (I can put point in this right) +2 (12)
Fury Branch: Metal: Emotion Control +2 (3), Fire: Scare +1 (2), Ignite +1 (2), summoned Fury +1 (2)

Codex of Alera Roleplay

Uhhh, right. Only slightly lost here! Tell me if I'm missing something, cuz I'm sure I will miss something.
Name: Ademar, Male Aleran, Age 21
dark brown hair cut very short, brown eyes, short and stocky, relatively muscular
Lineage: child of a Legion Captain
Furies (is that what this is?): Fire, Metal
Weapons: Spear, Shield
Personality: Cocky and selfish, he quite enjoys manipulating others, though he has his limits. Manipulating others and their emotions for pranks and for his own gain, he has no qualms with, however death is something he is... strangely uncomfortable with, despite his lineage. He is trained in combat, but prefers to manipulate his enemies into turning their wrath upon others, or intimidating them into running away. He is rather reckless, though he becomes much more cautious when he realizes his life is at stake. He's generally callous towards anyone except for family, who he is fiercely loyal to. Interested in girls, but not particularly in a relationship. (I want to see if I can play an asshole, let's see how I do)
Pet: Not a one. (Do I need one?)
Names of Furies: Pff, who bothers to name them? (Once again, do I need to?) Both are male.
Backstory: ...*shrug* Whatever I guess?
Riiight, this is where I'm unsure. How many points do I have available to put into various things? 5 in each branch, plus 1, for 6? Or is the plus 1 just 1 in each stat already, and you have 5 extra to allocate? Oh, I think I see, nevermind. Gimme a sec to figure out what I wanna invest points into.
Weapons Branch: Dual Wield +1 (total of 2?), Counter +2 (3), Block +1 (2), Parry +1 (2)
General Branch: Bargain +1 (2), Intimidate +1 (2), Charm +1 (2), Energy (I can put point in this right) +2 (12)
Fury Branch: Metal: Emotion Control +2 (3), Fire: Scare +1 (2), Ignite +1 (2), summoned Fury +1 (2)
Ah, mind if I redo this real quick? doing it in a different post.
Do I need to put points into Dual Wield to effectively use both my Spear and Shield at once? I did all this right? Am I forgetting anything else?
