I just found (and caught) my first ever shiny Pokemon, a shiny Sliggoo. I am so happy.

Shiny Pokemon in X/Y

Normally I'd feel happy for you, cause I know that feel. But I mean.

What are you gonna do? It's in the worst Pokemon game. Kinda stings.
-Overcluttered Pokedex, makes it hard to find anything in any given area
-Pandering to MLGfags over normal "casual" people
-Badly written, plot feels largely unfinished
-Setting is poorly developed, world feels huge but hollow
-Piss poor number of new Pokermans
-Low amount of post game content
-Overly easy

Those are the ones that come to me immediately. Still hoping for a R/S/E remake to come save the 6th gen.

X/Y do have plenty of flaws, but overall I still really enjoy them. I certainly wouldn't say they're the worst Pokemon games so far. If there is something I really didn't like about them, it's that the development was so rushed that game-breaking bugs like the Lumoise City saving glitch got in the game. That irks me a bit.
I also want a R/S/E remake. So very very badly.

I almost doubt there will be a 3rd gen remake considering just about every R/S/E Pokemon appears in X/Y, it's ridiculous.

Overall, though, I agree with wildwes in that the game is still enjoyable to degree. Hell, at least the devs didn't screw up the core of Pokemon's gameplay TOO much. There are SEVERAL problems with it that ruin the fun of the game, though. I don't know who thought adding horde encounters with Pokemon's mechanics was a good idea, or that ridiculously boring, clunky as hell Rhydon ride.

This still feels like the least-polished game out of the entire franchise, though, almost next to Red and Green (the first set of games ever released). I think Gamefreak rushed this game to get that simultaneous international release they wanted. I still won't say X/Y is terrible, but after being spoiled by Black and White this was kind of a disappointment.
Pretty much every Pokemon ever was vacuum sealed into X/Y so idk man. If they make a Z then they should all seppuku
I liked X/Y. Guess it's up to taste. Personally, it's not as bad as Black/White 2 - I couldn't get through that for some reason and I'm not even sure why. :/

4th gen is still my least favorite mostly because of how slow everything felt in those games, but these reasons make X and Y come pretty close. Though I still enjoyed them. Hopefully, if there is a Z or X/Y2, hopefully they'll put a lot more polish into it.

Black/White 2 was...kinda hit and miss for me. I loved how each gym had a different musical theme, but a lot of the other new tracks were inferior to the first games'. Most of the new features were pretty pointless(Movies and Join Avenue! Yay?) but the World Tournament thing was pretty awesome. Actually, I take that back about Join Avenue. You could do some pretty useful stuff in there if you took the time to build it up. The story wasn't as good as BW1, but was still better than XY...ect.

EDIT:

Oh yeah! Congrats wes for your shiny. I shall be much jelly of your shiny Goodra from afar.
