[RMMV] Looking for some Teammates for Resource Management RPG

Synopsis: I am making an RPG companion to a board game I designed called Guildmaster: Langris (GM:L).

I am currently using Time Fantasy Assets (tiles and sprites) while using custom Fire Emblem GBA style portraits (Faces) and will probably continue as the basis for the project going forward, so familiarity with these color palettes, style of those sets is a plus for pixel artists in this project. I don't require any extensive knowledge, as I value willingness and punctuality over experience in this particular project.

Positions/Roles Needed:
Highly Wanted: Pixel Artist (Primarily need a pixel artist who can make GBA Fire Emblem Style Portraits for characters, need sprites designed for unique characters, battle animations etc.)
Writer for character arcs and scenes, even NPC dialouge
Would like: Mapper (To make some of the dungeon maps, to give feedback on some of the other city maps etc.)
Programmer (integrating plugins, maybe creating custom plugins, integrating scripting into skills, designing menus etc.)

My Role(s)/Position(s): Project Lead, Head Writer, Battle Designer, putting things together for the complete game. I will be doing much of the project and team coordination through Milanote. I currently have a Sound Designer working on key music for the game.

If you are interested, please notify me with what position/area you're interested in working. I look forward to hearing from you!

[RM2K3] Changing Actor Battler Graphic from events?

Is there a way to change the actor battlers in the game via events? I swear I have checked the entire menu and I don't seem to see anything in any of the event options. This seems like it should be a simple command, and i thought that it was in Tsukuru, but I could be mistaken.

[RM2K3] Skill Detection- is it a thing?

Is there currently any functionality or eventing mechanic in 2k3 that allows you to detect if a specific skill was used in battle? I'm not talking about Switch skills, but a targeted battle skill. Say i use fire, and a switch could be activated, or it's stored in a variable?

Would this be a possibility in the future or are my dreams of lazily not making the switch to ANY of the new engines a foolish endeavor? Don't really answer that.

[RM2K3] Is there an Event Factory-like program for official 2k3?

There used to be an amazingly nifty utility called Event factory that I believe David Trapp created, that would allow you to copy event scripts and paste them into the utility, giving you the ability to batch create events for 2k3.

Is there anything that currently exists like this for the current liscensed versions of 2k3?

If not, does anyone have any tips on batch creating complex scripts that just need a variable ref changed or the like?

[RMVX ACE] [RMMV] [RM2K3] NEED DEVELOPERS FOR RPG PROJECT

I’m currently looking for artists and developers to assist in the production of a project Wayfare. Without divulging too much, Wayfare is a dark fantasy RPG to be told in 3-4 episodes each with distinct characters and locations.
I am looking for help in the following fields
  • Character Portraits
  • Overworld Sprite Design
  • Character Battle Animations
  • Musicians
  • Writers/Editors
  • Scriptwriters/Programmers/Eventers
Possible jobs includes
  • Background and environment tiles (Would also be used for battle backgrounds)
  • Boss Sprite Design
  • System Graphic DesignSpecial effect Graphics

You can call me Zaeran, but my name is W.T.L. Third. I have been a member of the RMN community for a few years now, but I have been engaged in the Maker scene for years beyond that. I am a recent graduate in computer engineering and communication at Western Michigan University. I have done multiple hackathons in the past few years many of which revolve around game design and game theory, most notable being the Hack 4 Missions hackathon in 2015, where I managed a 19-person team that conceptualized, designed and demonstrated an adventure game based on the experience of a refugee in a fictional country entitled Defiance. On RMN, I started the overly ambitious project titled Eternal Dusk a game which I will return to at a later time.
Ultimately I want to go into multimedia production and part of that will be game design.

Wayfare is an episodic dark fantasy tale, chronicling a journey to find a the person who can save a ravaged continent. As the player, you control the Wayfarer and the Wayfarer’s crew as they journey through Greater Deimos in their search for an old friend, hoping that this friend can repair the broken world they are now residents of.

Wayfare will feature:
  • A robust hard-magic system with 80+ spells and lore behind it.
Dynamic battle system and challenging combat that is more than clicking "attack" multiple times through
  • Hours of side content to add on to the already enthralling story.
  • Colorful characters and a well fleshed out world.
  • Intense character interaction and development in an enthralling story.

Wayfare is 2D in an attempt to bring simplicity to what will be an ambitious narrative. It also adds a bit to the nostalgia factor of classic top-down RPGs. Fair warning, there are many heavy story topics in the story, ranging from gore, violence to sexual themes, most of which may NOT be explicitly illustrated or glorified, but may be discussed or hinted to and is part of the story.

The style that I’m looking for is Romancing Saga 3 style sprites. This style is probably my favorite 2-D model of sprites and I think they look amazing. I have already started creating some characters and battle poses but I have other parts of the project to work on.

The art itself is defined by the limitations of RPG Maker 2003’s resource guidelines:

Portraits: ((48x48)4x4) , for now I only need a base portrait for each character in the first episode

Overworld Sprites: (((24x32)3x4)4x2)

As for the battle animations, we gain more freedom in size and animation if we use Battle Effects as a character’s battle animation an option given in RM2k3. This allows for 25 unique images in an animation and up to 500 frames .

Battle Sprites: ((96x96)5x5)

As it pertains to tilesets, I am open to anything that would mesh well with RS style sprite work. This is in no way an urgent part of the art

Depending on the quality of the work, workload and the time it .takes to do the graphics, I am willing to negotiate payment for the work done on this project. I am more than willing to pay for quality work. I am less likely to pay upfront to someone who has a lack of portfolio though. This will be a great opportunity to increase your portfolio either way.
At the very least anyone who does work on this project will be featured in the Credits, but anyone who does extensive work will be feature in credits and promotional material. (Trailers, posted websites)

As of now, the first part of this project is not a commercial project so I am not expecting monetary returns on it. However I am open to releasing the subsequent episodes commercially and reworking the first if we have unique and good quality graphics to work with. All of this would require that all resources that we use can legally be used to sell a commercial product. I am using a licensed version of Rm2k3* via steam so that is not an issue, but other things such as sound effects and graphics will need to be legal to use.

As such depending on who will be working on this project, we may have enough talent to make a full commercial game.

There is space in the application to post rates and costs for your work

*I will soon purchase RPG Maker MV, so there is a chance that I will be shifting design to that engine. This would obviously lift many of those restrictions. The shift would be based on how the team feels about that as a possibility.

In order to apply, follow this link below to an application form where you can fill out any pertinent information. There will be space in the form where you can post links to your digital portfolio if you have one, and further instruction if you don’t will be listed at the submission of the application. You should expect a reply within 48 business hours of your application.

I look forward to the possibility of working with you, and with your help, we can make Wayfare an excellent game!

** I am open to seeing new styles of character design and art, so don't withhold an application simply because your style is different!

[RMXP] [RM2K] [RM2K3] Clean un blurred text for CMS etc

How do you guys create text for a custom menu that will have a transparent background and NO blurred or anti-aliased parts to it, so as to appear clear from the background but also legible. Software or methods welcome. FYI I am currently using Inkscape a vector art program

[RMVX ACE] Looking for artist(s) and spiter(s) to make battlers and/or portraits

I'm currently looking for some one to help with a project. Specifically making battlers and/or character portraits. It would be battlers for at least 10 characters maybe more. I'm looking for at least 40 portraits.

Not looking for supreme quality but I have details of each battler necessary for each character and I already have portrait sketches of most portraits

Please message me if you are interested, and let me know what your terms would be and we can negotiate.

Instant Hell Tablet

So my tablet finally arrived, and I was inspired to draw none other than... you guessed it! AKUMA!

These are the by the hour development of the piece in discussion.

I may be using this tablet in the near future for character art for my games and such, but that is still to be determined...

Programming/Eventing Request

As I have been workin on my project Eternal Dusk I have began to become more and more slowed down by trying to go the project myself. Between design of art and programming, when I'l be able to release the demo is really bugging me. So I've decided to ask the community if anyone is willing to help me with one or two of the custom systems in the game? I would love to program them myself but the job would be tedious and time consuming, and between work and school, it's hard to squeeze the game development in everyday. So please, if someone is interested PM me, or email me at cartoonkidtres@yahoo.com. For anyone who doesn't follow the link, the game is in RPGM2003, so it's eventing. This is also an unpaid request

Possible Systems that would be delegated would be:
Finishing the programming of the Grant System
Programming the weather system.
Programming the beastiary
Finishing Programming of the Limit-esque Battle System

I would like to continue the programming of the other advance programs myself.
