So since the other custom font topic went sour and my question ignored I will present it here.
I downloaded Cherry's program to add custom fonts, but got an error.
Then Cherry provided me a link for a new program, Hyper Patcher 2
I downloaded that, and it looks like a great program! but...I get the same error.
RPG Maker 2000 (this is in the title of error message pop-up)
Run Time Package nicht gefunden. Bitte RTP installieren.
Then I hit OK to go back to the program.
Seeing it reminded me that this is the reason I couldnt use the other program. I assume it's telling me that the RTP is not installed, but im not even working with RM2k. RM2k3 is installed properly.
Do I really have to install RM2k? That doesnt seem right... I have not tried installing it and I would rather not.
Has anybody else gotten this error? Did you install 2k to fix it?
Did anybody NOT have 2k installed and was able to use this program for 2k3?

Not sure why that's happening, but you can use Cherry's hyper patcher 2 beta to remove RTP check dependencies. Probably a bad idea, but it'll fix your problem.
Why would that be a bad idea? In my game I removed all references to any RTP graphics, if that has any bearing on what your talking about.
Not having custom font wouldn't be game breaking, but I would always be disgusted that I was forced to use the default font. There has to be a way...

You can use a hex editor to directly change the font name strings in RPG_RT.exe. I wouldn't suggest it if you don't know what a hex editor is, though.
