The Healing Sister

Elyria is the goddess of music, mercy, and medicine. The Healing Sisters of Elyria are a sororal order of (all female) clerics and hospitaliers who express their worship of Elyria through their deeds. In theory they are a neutral, apolitical organization (vaguely analogous to the Red Cross) who exist in every province to tend to the sick and the wounded, soothing injured soldiers with their matronly beauty and their healing prowess after the battle has ended. Just as commonly of course, they act as midwives, village healers, and chirurgeons. In practice, while no province has a particular monopoly on the Sisters and the Healing Sisters AS A WHOLE obey no one master, they are not exactly neutral; the various factions have their OWN Healing Sisters who are personally loyal to them, although for Healing Sisters to attack each other in combat is strictly forbidden (and in fact by the vows of their order, they should not be attacking in combat at all).

Not all Healing Sisters possess magic. In fact, most do not, instead using folk remedies and herbal medicine to practice their healing art (making them, in a sense, less skilled alchemists). However, the select few who are "moonborn" are able to act as conduits for Elyria's mercy, and can magically heal others by laying on hands. It is this latter category that will appear in actual To Arms! battles as a playable (and fightable) unit. However, for Episode One of To Arms!, Healing Sisters will fill the role of Sir Not-Appearing-In-This-Film (they are in the story in a few minor roles, but are not yet a playable unit due to the absence of any female recruits).

Healing Sisters are the purest healers. They don't sideline in status effects and crafting like Alchemists or in tanking like War Priests. They just heal and are really good at it. They are the Berserkers of healing...not that that analogy makes any sense.

EXAMPLE SKILLS
Healing Sister skills are purely magical, cost PP, and heal allies.
Touch of Elyria: Moderate, Intelligence-based healing to one ally for 15 PP. <Free Starting Skill>
Mend the Mind: Cures one ally of Silence, Confusion, Sleep, Stupor, and Berserk for 8 PP. <Cost: 400 JP>
Song of Elyria: Cause one ally to regenerate Health over time for 20 PP. If the target is poisoned, the target will not Regen but will no longer be poisoned. <Cost: 600 JP>
Harmony: Cures all allies of all mental effects that Mend the Mind cures, for 30 PP. <Cost: 800 JP; Requires Mend the Mind>
PROFICIENCIES:
Weapons: Staves only.
Armor: Robes, hats, and hoods. Bucklers.
