Summer Fun: Crab Dodge is a minigame slightly similar to frogger.
You try to cross the beach avoiding crabs.

I do.

However, you start out at a beach bar, talking to guests and you can even uncover the truth of the crab incident .. by losing often enough.

While you can spend a significant amount of time there - more than the minute actually crossing the beach - the characters are blatantly boring and it really doesn't motivate you to do anything, or uncover anything. Stereotypes such as the lazy (beach) guard, the money-obsessed waitress/shop owner, that one guy trying to hit on said waitress are all present, but barebones. We only get a few lines, so you can't expect any depth.
Unfortunately, no music and barely any soundeffects accompany the game which drains any atmosphere it could have. Instead, you get all kinds of emotion-bubbles during each and every dialogue, which don't add anything at all. I found them annoying and their only purpose seems to be lengthening dialogue.

Either way, off you go to demonstrate your crab dodge ability!
Additionally to dodging crabs you mustn't walk under palm trees - coconuts are just waiting to knock you out.
There is one level, one pattern .. and really just one way to walk through it all (or through the first half). It isn't too difficult, but you can't plan ahead as you won't know exactly whether you can make it on either side.
Try a few times where you can go ahead and where you can't - done.

It works, it's okay, but it lacks the atmosphere and happy music to be fun.
It also was an unfortunate choice to mix "serious" interaction (see the uncovering ending) and lighthearted minigames. As a result, the atmosphere remains neutral and thus unfitting for both.

Oddly enough it's pretty easy to beat this game in under 30 seconds once you've found the optimal route. And that route doesn't really require being a master of timing to get through either.
