What am I looking at here? Is this the menu of your game or is that window on top of the screen fixed in there at all times? Because if this is not the menu then I don't see much sense in having the experience or the level of the character displayed. Is there a purpose for them being there? Is that information necessary to calculate the damage or some skills or something? If not, then maybe you should remove them and make room for other things, like buffs or equipped skills, I dunno...

It is the Heads-Up Display. It's there so you know your Hp, Mp, etc. without having to bring up the menu. And it's not fixed up there, you could toggle it on or off. It's just nifty, I think.
I would definitely recommend condensing it a little bit, yeah. HP, MP, and TP are important to know most of the time, but things like level, experience, and the weapon you're using are things that you only need to remind the player of when it changes -- so when they equip something new or get more experience or whatever. I think the messageboxes take up just a little too much real estate on the screen right now.

I definitely understand, and as I said, you can toggle it on or off.
oh, I was assuming this was some sort of action game. if it's just a turn-based rpg, then most of the stuff there isn't critical and a toggle works fine.

ideally, I prefer that sort of thing to be dismissed from the screen as soon as I start to move. so I can press a button to quickly check up on my information, but then it's gone as soon as I know what's what and I'm on my way. that might be splitting hairs for something at this stage, though, and I trust you to figure out what kind of implementation is best.
