a cure for vaporware syndrome

Hello my loyal followers! Diabolica has caught vaporware syndrome, and I'm desperately searching for a cure!

It has been AGES since I've posted updates on Diabolica, but I have been sporadically working on it! Since walls of text are annoying to read:

• The faux-3d style has been removed.
This has actually been a very problematic part of the development process, I really wanted it to work but trying to work in 3 dimensions with a 2D engine without complex math and scripting I do not have the heart to invest in was a struggle. I'm returning to the mack-esque rich-color tilesets that originally gave Diabolica its spotlight a half-a-dozen months ago.

• Crafting & Dismantling are fully implemented.
Every piece of equipment and most useable items have their crafting recipes implemented. In addition, most equipment can be dismantled back into their ingredients. This is a critical concept in the crafting system's design, as resources are for the most part controlled by the player.

• Cast reduction to six actors.
This was done because 10+ actors is never a good idea for balance or plot purposes. Six is much easier to manage and balance.

• Class system is being worked on.
The class system is very much in progress. I am including both Classes and Subclasses for characters, and the actual classes available are very much under development.

• "Astral Projection" battle system in progress.
The details for this bit will be released later on! Very experimental and conceptual at this point!

• Attack skill has been removed.
And replaced with 4 skills depending on your weapon type called the "Weapon" skillset. Just having a simple attack command was so boring and the variety in skills creates a much more engaging battle than just spamming "Attack". These skills have cooldowns, so you are "encouraged" to use other weapon skills or spells.

• Re-thought of storyline.
The storyline and character personalities have been redone. More details on this are soon to come and updates to the gamepage, but put simply it focuses on Alder and his journey to reclaim the throne that was stolen from him.

There is so much more to come, and I can't wait to display what I've been working on for so long! Pray for me!
